Seems like, by using a button, that controls the thumb switch, that I could set it up so that if I press the button, then I could have the front dig on, and then use the thumb switch to change it between rear locked, and rear free wheel?

Press the button, and then dig is off again?

Is this possible?

I have my transmitter set up so that the thumb switch controls front dig and rear lock. The button cut's them off and throws it into free rear.

Mods should ban that user. Every post from him is spam.

Has any one modded the tq3 w/ a steering switch from another radio to control a winch. It seems like it would be a really good idea because it will give you really fine control of the feed rate.

thanks for all the info her I plan on using a tq3 for dig and the epa setup is just what I needed. Could buy a good radio but half the fun of crawling is modding the hell out of every part of it to make it better.

I love this thread. Just started to mod mine up. Perfect spot for the rear steer wheel to be controlled with your left thumb. Stole the wheel from an old model car.

Here is my completed winch or rear wheel steer mod finished. Sorry for the fuzzy pic but its a cell phone pic. I used a steering mechanism from my old axial rtr transmitter and mounted it opposite of the stock wheel. I found that the tx has a hidden trim knob next to one of the case screws on the back of the base opposite side of the crystal's location. I trimmed up the third channel and it works flawlessly.

Man, Im still lost because as simple as I should be able to figure this out. well I cant.
I just want to wire in a 3 position switch for a winch and even though this is a simular set up for rear wheel steering. well Im lost!

Can someone show me a diagram to just wire up the 3 position switch in place of the rocker. and do I have to have pots inline?

It just would make it so much easier to see what i have to do without seeing the a 2 position wired in line with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated alot.

I know all of these mods are for the tq3 controller. I have a tq4 and want to use the 3rd channel for front and rear dig setup useing two little switches and a micro servo to operate them. My question is how would I need to set it up to do this? Would it be the same as the rear steer or what? A wiring diagram would be great or some pics at least if somebody has any. Thanks

well I just did the wire up on my controller for the winch system. so as soon as I get my ESC back from Tekin and test it out. I will post up how that went with a diagram. I wish I could help in the dig system. It seems as if no one posts up anything in this thread anymore

Will the EPA mod work on the throttle ?

I want to put a limiter on the amount of total throttle available.

My need isnt for crawling so much as for my 11.1 Lipo Slash when running on small tracks.

Great thread on this but just one stupid question. Is there a trick to adjusting the pots? I am adding them for rear steer front steer and dig on a TQ4 radio. Also would it be ok to use 2k 1/2 watt pots instead of the 2k 1/4 watt pots? I have not been able to find the 1/4 watt pots just the 1/2 watt.

TQ4 is 2.4g for starts, i thought about this and i think if you put on/off switches on each winch (would have to be on the truck) you could turn the rear winch off, front on and use the front, or turn the front off, rear on and use the rear....

Did you finally turn that flex monster wheely king into a real scaler ? lol.

the wheely king is still a flex monster. i got a scx10 that will be a H1 if i can find a hard body. if u do the on/off switch would u tack a vehicle touch?
