Max amps 6000mah holds almost 7000 mah

I had heard lots of good things about max amps batteries, I got a 6000mah 2s lipo and it is charging to 6700+ mah with my hyperion charger http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...5&cat=7&page=1

I can run my xxxt full blast for 30 minutes with mm 5700 combo and the battery never gets warm or loses punch. I had to stop after 30 minutes because the tires came unglued. The pack is exactly the same size as a normal 6cell nimh weighs less.

Now to my question, is it ok to let my lipo pack charge to 6700 if the charger settings are right and thats when its stopping and its not getting warm? Dont want to burn down my house, where would I keep my stuff.

You're battery will take what it takes, the 6000 rating is what it will reliably hold over time, most batteries will peak well over the rated Mah"thumbsup" as long as you charge using the proper settings and don't mistreat you lipo's they should last quite a while with no explosions;-)

I was pretty sure it was ok, just wanted to check with someone else, better safe than sorry. THanks

6000 mah is the discharge value not the charge value. Many batteries will take a charge of over the rated discharge capacity.

Yeah, you are good. The cells are probably 3300 mah that have been derated to 3000's (two in parallel for 6ah) to prevent people from pushing them too hard. Kinda like Castle saying the mamba 25 works on 3s lipo max even though 4s and 5s won't blow it up with the right setup. Makes the extra runtime a nice suprise for you.
