I was thinking half "Send it" and half Canyonero from the simpsons...

With the experience and the reviews it does look tempting, but the SSD looks sweet too so far. So what is one to do?? I guess wait and see what all the specs. on the ssd, And flip a coin?

Just wait them out and compare them carefully. Then decide which one is more valuable. LOL

Wonder if they will release a kit version. I raced with the original Stealth transmission back in the day.

My guess is they will have a kit eventually, with all the research they seem to have done I would imagine they know the more hardcore crowd wants a kit version.

As for comparing the SSD and Sendero its surely too soon to know but just from the SSD tranny I'd hazard a guess that it may be more on the scale side of things while the Sendero might be more performance oriented (based on the weight, CG, and overdrive)

Default Team Associated teasing a scale crawler!

Love SSD , but as he stated it’s not Axial quality. Quality shocks, links, axles, and the scale trans, that’s close to VS4 territory. This won’t be entry level.

So I dove and used the 25.00 coupon at A Main, no one else allows the coupons( RPP &Tower) so I like price point, and bought it as the wife’s first crawler. If she says no, I’m still at break even .

Yeah that was a really cool build. I heard the guy who built it talking about how long he spent working on it and the odd materials used such as a yoga mat for the tank portion.

Just wanting to say that this is a great thread... the SSD new release, some PBTF '19, that Mad Max creation, great Sendero videos/ specs/ reviews/ AE fan support, and even some real life footage of the Axial SCX24! Neat to see a thread like this. I would've rather just 'liked' a ton of stuff in here but this will do.

Ha! Thanks! I can already see the scale Canyonero's complete with whatever favorite Simpson's driver! Gotta say that would be cool lol.

I'm already committed to a couple other toys atm so I'll be one of the stragglers. The Sendaro body in a brown/ copper ( maybe heavy on the sparkle) with bronze-anodized aluminum retro style wheels wrapped with those Grabbers... maybe the whole thing done up in retro 80's Baja themed graphics... That would be seriously cool!

I think it has a real Honcho feel the more that I look at it ( minus the gorgeous grille but still). I don't mind admitting that I like it. It's certainly decent-looking enough to hold it's own. After what I've seen the RCC community do with the Traxxas Sport body, it seems that 'unlicensed' can be a good thing.

Does anyone have an estimated ship date yet? I’m really looking forward to this truck. Probably going to preorder at my LHS tomorrow!

Tower and RPP say Mid June. Amain says June 24.

Parts list is up and they have a lot available. Tires $21 a pair for carcass only. Everything seems reasonably priced.

$51 transmission
$76 axle kit

I saw the same, they want to get product out so they seem to have priced it right to do that.

Ugh, I just bought some AR44 overdrive gears... Well, I still got one truck that can use the tranny from this.
