Combination of spare parts & upgrades. Upgrades range from scale to performance to body expansion.

Club5 Racing: Element - Page 1 - Club 5 Racing
Club5 Racing was 1 of the very first to come out with aftermarket upgrades. Assortment varies widely, from light sets to metal bumpers, scale upgrades, chassis upgrades, very diverse. At the time of this writing, they have the most upgrades from all aftermarket providers. One interesting product is their link set both adds weight and corrects the wheelbase. Making the wheels better aligned in the wheelhouses of the Sendero body.
Their steering link kit does something similar, adds some weight and compared to the original set you get a little more freedom to the pumpkin on the axle.

Reefs RC: https://reefsrc.com/store/p_853264/sendero-sliders
Reefs RC arrived very quickly with a metal slider.

RC Addict: https://rcaddictparts.com/products/i...0c976164&_ss=r en https://rcaddictparts.com/products/i...0c976164&_ss=r
RC Addict offers an incognito body mounting system. They also work with Spare Times Hobby, which develops 3D components, so upgrades are still to be expected there. Link sets upgrades are offered under their D-Links brand.

First mods (Free Mods)

One of my first projects was to improve approach and departure angles for this truck. The bumpers hang down quite a bit, and seem to drag on everything. Especially approach - if you trim off the bottom of the bumper and move it in, drill new mounting holes so it can mount about a quarter inch closer to the frame/body, front and rear. You'll need to trim the body some for the rear to move in, and radius the ends of the front to clear the tire on full lock-full compression.

When I first saw this rig I thought of a '70's to 80's dodge pickup truck, so I went with that theme for mine.
Knight Customs created a 'Dodge' grill and offered up at Shapeways, so my grill came before the truck did.

I was all excited and went to install it on the new truck and found out the stock lenses don't work with this grill - and especially it needs some lenses. So cut a piece of lexan to fill the entire headlamp and turn lamp area, applied a reflective sticker to the turn indicator (maybe I'll get to a led turn lamp) and gluded it to the grill.

very awesome post, chris! first things im doing to mine is a 14t pinion (checked my bins all i had was a 16) and eventually a hobbywing 1080. maybe some inner fenders too (and a dodge grill!) but that's not really performance oriented.
i really like your bumper mod and i had a similar idea just looking at pics.

BRING ON THE DREMEL MODS! hahaha

oh and there is a section now!

maybe you could post this there too? or mods could be super nice and move this there??

New forum section?? Whoot!!

LOTS more to come!! Just love this new little truck, it's great!

A brief glimpse of 'Browneye Proving Grounds' - my front yard crawling course made up with left over paver stones.

Oh, and here's how much improved approach angle is with the bumper mod. Notice I have also moved the front mounting posts all the way to the bottom mounting hole - as tall as it will go. It sets the front of the body about 3/16" up off the front bumper, but also eliminates the front tire rubbing by about 75%. The rest was trimming the rear of flares a bit.

Nice thread Chris! That rear bumper mod was one of the first things I did, but I didn't want to trim the body yet to acccomodate it as I didn't know if I'd change to a different bumper. Instead I had the body just flap over the bumper LOL! In the beginning of my video you could see where the flaps got caught on the bumper though after a tumble.

Yeah, I don't mind trimming...edward scissor-hands.

Gearing was discussed a little over on the introductory thread for this rig, but here's the scoop for new owners...
The design is a 'trail truck' and obviously thought to run on 2S power. If you've been in the hobby/sport for any length of time chances are pretty high you run your rigs on 3S lipo. Before I even got my truck I ordered the new REEDY 3000mah lipo compact battery, and especially since I have three Vaterra Ascenders that use the same compact pack. I was also more than pleased that all my deans connectors were right at home with this rig.

The REEDY pack is really nice, it's a hard case, and reasonably priced, surely lightweight, so for me it was a natural with the stock compact battery tray that comes in the new rig. They also package a full-size tray if you want to install it in your rig to run the larger high-capacity packs. AE offers all the way up to 7500mah in a standard size 2S pack.

The problem with 3S in this rig is that it's now just way too fast. Worse, all of the gearing upgrade options are to make the gearing even taller. It comes with a 18T pinion and 87T spur. I think there's a 89T option which I will look into as well. Anyway, the motor mounting plate does have sufficient adjustment slots to allow for a 14T pinion gear. I had a couple on hand, they're the stock pinion for an Ascender and I've mostly changed all mine to even smaller yet. It's a standard 48-pitch (tooth size) pinion and spur gear in the new Enduro.

Potentially a 13T would fit in here, but for sure the 14 sets up nicely and really improves slow-speed crawl. Unfortunately reverse is still really punchy, so you have to remember to really ease into reverse - it will literally flip itself on it's top if you punch reverse in stock format.

IMO this is a must-do if you're going to run 3s packs. If you're a trail runner and want some speed, then the 18T is just grand - it really moves!!
If you want even taller gearing you'll have to source the smaller spur gear as the adjust slot is all the way out for the larger 18T pinion gear.

This is going to be entirely subjective.

Out of the box, the truck has a 47:1 gear ratio at the overdriven front end which is pretty good compared to every truck without portals. A lot of my 1.9 trucks run around a 2200kv motor on 3S with gearing in the 45-50:1 range for crawling, out of the box on 3S would be pretty close to what I like out of my trucks.

Yeah, I used to run a lot taller gearing in my rigs as well. So agreed - I should preface this for rock crawling and slow speed control.

A 45T motor runs really slow.

perfect example:
my co-worker, who's yeti im currently giving a thorough overhaul, heard me talking about this rig and says "how fast is it?"
my answer was "well its a trail truck/rock crawler, not a gofast. so for you, i would say its slow." "so like 10mph?" i said yeah maybe.
he is still interested in the truck but im not sure its for him... unless he gets those optional taller gears on 3S and really stretches her legs...

so yes, its subjective.

I tucked my bumpers even a bit deeper than the OP..... Still catches once in a while but is like 90% better than the stock. Eventually I may spring for a better bumper but for now this will do.

ohhh NICE work there! i really want to see how long i can use the original bumpers also.

i have another body i will toss on this rig, but i want to beat on this "doge" for a bit... for research ;) and to buy myself time to put some finishing touches on the other body.

*question: those holes on either side of the fairlead, are those for LED's?

Here is quick little mod I had to do to the large battery tray. I dremeled out a notch for the battery wires so the battery would lay flat in the tray.

One of the 3 included servo horns is extra beefy! I just swapped it out and am about to go drive it, I can't see this one stripping... for a while.
