| Re: B-MOW's Enduro Journey! That's good news! Yeah, I still need to get 4 more. I got the the steel balls mounted. They feel really good in the rod ends. I ended up putting the 4 shock balls in the bottom mounts and kept the plastic balls in the top shock cap. The balls fit really good in the bottom mounts. I tried the steel balls in the stock plastic shock caps and they feel kinda loose in there. I may hold off on the other 4 steel balls and just get the aluminum shock caps later on. |

Well, since the weather here now is unbearably hot and humid with pop-up storms coming out of the blue, I had a chance to work on the Enduro yesterday. First off, I did the overdrive upgrade. It is very simple to do and it is nice that Element includes the gears needed to complete this. Thanks to Soze and his overdrive gear replacement video, this went very smoothly. I went through and replaced most of the screws with Team KNK stainless steel screws. I didn't have all the screws I needed, so I will pick up their Enduro screw kit to finish replacing the rest of the screws. Also, swapped out the plastic servo horn with an aluminum horn that I had in my spare parts bin. I added a servo extension for the 3rd channel so in the future when I add a servo winch I will not have to open up the box to add this. Also makes it nice to be able to just unplug whenever it needs to be serviced without opening the box every time. Swapped out the wheel hub screws to stainless. The screws that were in there were a M2.6 and the replacements were M2.5. Threaded in with no problems. In my package that I received yesterday from AE turned out not to be the kit, but was the inner fender kit and the steel balls for the links and shock mounts. I just got the inner fenders cut and washed and are ready for paint. I have to say, these feel a lot thicker than the body and should hold up very well. They also have cut lines molded in them so they can be trimmed for different widths of bodies. I thought that was cool that Element thought to do that. I'll post up pics later with the inner fenders installed. |

Very cool! Exciting stuff. This truck is here to stay I think! I'm also eager to use the 3rd channel for my servo winch. |

Ok, I got the inner fenders installed. Element did a great job at designing these. They don't feel as flimsy as the body does and they fit great. I sprayed them with Tamiya PS-5 Black on both sides and topped them with Tamiya PS-55 Flat Clear. I cut them on the cut lines molded in the lexan. I may ended up trimming them a little as they seem to be a little too wide and rub the sides of the body. I probably start out by taking an 1/8" off of each. Here are a few pics:

Looks great Brian! I’m liking the front bumper you have on there now. With the fenders on, did you notice any difference in cab height? It could have been in my head, but it seemed like the back side wouldn’t go as low because it hits the wheel wells where the cab and bed meet. FWIW I thought the same about the width and trimmed them down to the first line on the wheel well Last edited by Topher Builds; 07-07-2019 at 06:45 PM. |

I did notice the cab and bed rest right on the wheel wells. I'm not sure if it is good or bad. I think it might be good because it helps support the body, but bad cause there won't be any "give" when the truck tumbles which may end up breaking something else. I may trim a little of the inside of the cab & bed so that there will be a little room for movement. I ended up trimming about half way to the first line on the wheel wells. With the body on it leaves about an 1/8" gap between the wheel well and body. Once I get it out on the trails I'll check to see if I need to trim anymore.
