Speaking of the bumper, did you get the aluminum plate with the winch fairlead?

Thanks! I haven't seen the macho power wagon before. That would have been a cool one to duplicate!

D'oh!

GS01, got it. I am using the GS02, but I think I like yours better!
Thanks durok! I originally bought this Gmade bumper for my VP Chassis Kit, but i thought it looked really good on here and matched the body fairly well. I don't believe I have seen a GS02.

To answer your next question, I did not get the plate that attaches to the front for the fairlead. I like that and I need to find one. I was going to make my own because I didn't know there was one available.

Thanks Brian! I have painted many bodies over the years, but this was the first for spraying on the outside. Lessons learned and I hope the next will look better! I hear ya on the schemes! I can plan them out in my head, but come time to paint one I struggle. Sometimes I get lucky though!

What I will say about painting lexan on the outside is simple!
Wash it!!!
Tape off what is clear.
Scuff lightly, steel wool or 3m pad
Clean it again( squeaky?)

Now use Tamiya PS color, or PS55 if using other paint. Let a MIST coat dry ( sheen is flat then) Mist 2 more color coats on. Let dry. If not shooting Tamiya let cure for 24 hours, now tape and shoot. If you want it shiny, Tamiya TS13 clear will work.

When I shoot the outside of lexan, it’s usually a beater or wreck.

You can easily shoot any of the Tamiya TS lacquer paints, AFTER a PS base coat.

Thanks Mike!

Thanks for the tips. One thing I did forget to do was to lightly scuff with 3M pad. Well, we'll see how long the paint holds on! I did use the PS paint first so maybe it will stick.

Anyways that really was the plan to begin with, paint the outside and let it get scuffed up. This is kinda my test body to see how it turns out after a few scrapes and tumbles.

I didn't scuff the 2 RTR bodies I shot Tamiya paint over - it certainly isn't flaking anywhere, though it does abrade upon contact with rocks...

Thanks guys!

Back in the day when I raced 1/10 offroad and oval (30+ years ago), all of my cars were painted fluorescent green and yellow.

Awesome! Thanks durok!

That just saved me a lot of time fabbing one up! I may go with the silver just to break up the blackness! Ordering right now!

Glad I could help - Hope you don't mind when my Enduro looks a little like yours when I'm done with it.

I'll be avoiding anything bright, however... (ahhh! my eyes, my eyes!)

I was planning on blacking out that narrow strip under the radiator like you did, and most definitely trimming up my fenders.

Going for more of a military surplus truck turned into a beater...

Don't mind at all! I'm sure yours will turn out better. Especially if your doing a military theme. That will look sweet!

Yeah, that black strip under the radiator was kinda of an accident. I didn't realize I didn't have it taped off until after it was painted.

And having the fenders trimmed up that high allows the tire fit right into wheel well without any body rub. Hearing body rubs drives me nuts!

Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out!

Last night I worked on getting the Enduro to sit a little lower. I didn't like how high it sat and that made it somewhat top heavy. I picked up a set of Traxxas GTS yellow shock springs. They have a spring rate of 0.22.

Here is how it sits now with the new springs. It sits much lower and looks much better. I'm thinking I'm going to have to add a thicker shock oil as the suspension is softer than I like. I'm not exactly sure which weight of oil comes stock in these shocks, but I think I'm going to try 40w to start out.

I added some earth magnets to the bottom of the bed with some E6000. I do this to all of my rigs to hold the body clips when I need to take the body off. I hate losing body clips!

Never would have known you had a struggle with the paint just by looking at the truck. I agree with the others and think it came out great. Loving that bumper choice too. May have to snag one of them.

Thanks Danza! I'm shocked that it did come out looking like it did. I'll find out how well the paint sticks once I get it out on the rocks.

Yeah, I got lucky on the bumper. I think it fits this body perfectly! The only issue I see is it does stick out farther than I like. But that is due to the body being so long in front of the front tires. The bumper will slide in another 1/2" if needed.

Big thanks to durok for leading me in the right direction to finding the aluminum skid plate for the Gmade bumper!

Nice looking skid plate and they even give you the socket for the scale bolts.

I'm really happy with how the bumper looks now with the skid plate on there. I've never owned or have seen a Gmade rig in person, but I have to say this bumper looks to be made really well.

Only left to do to the Enduro for now is to get an interior put in it and build a winch.

I'm hoping to get the Enduro out for some action real soon. I'm dying to know how it is going to perform.

Thanks for looking! More to come later!

Just...Wow...

That whole front end looks perfect, grille detailing, body paint, and bumper - I'm jealous!

I haven't done anything else to mine, been procrastinating and trying to decide which way to go with the details.

I think the color is smashingly dodge and that bumper with fairlead makes it. I know knight customs has a dodge grill for these if you really wanted to complete the look. I think this and topher are my favorite rtr sendero bodies now. well done.

I think I’ll be adding a set of those springs!

The kit oil in 30wt. I’ll grab some 40wt as well.

Thanks for being a great lab rat! 🐀

I like this grille better than the Dodge, at least with the silver highlight job...

(just my opinion - of course! And I still see more Ford Ranger as a whole, although the fender "shoulders" are Dodge)

And I definitely agree on the assessment of those 2 RTR-bodied trucks as being the cream of the crop.

I remember when the Sendero was first released and I was ripping on the styling!

Now, I bought one and am falling all over myself in praise of how they look.

But - I still don't like 'em in the stock color...

(so, what the hell am I to do with mine?)
