Ahhhh yeah the real trick is soaking the losi gears in mayo before you install them into an AE rig, it doubles the torque!!! (Use bbq sauce for higher rpm) Soze your boy doesnt need his ascender anyway ;) I tried really hard to think of anything else I need while I was there. Got home looked at my batteries... SONOFA...!!! all xt60 hahaha my son is using my only deans to xt60 adapter. So... I did what any sensible baffoon would do. Made one! Had an extra xt60 and deans, just happens to be genders I needed. Fired up my trusty radio shack 2 watt soldering iron and BOOM! Last edited by Shinchu; 07-03-2019 at 07:34 PM. |

Nice! I think you made the right choice going RTR, I heard you saying if you went with the kit it would never get finished lol The RTR electronics seem fairly good so you should be able to leave it as is for a while at least, but we all know the mods will come eventually |

| Re: Shinchu got one too!!! I'm debating whether I should throw the rtr electronics into my son's Ascender. It should be comparable to the 1060 in there now, and it will have leads for his led lights built into it... which means I can snag that heyOK controller and put it back in the Enduro.

Haha yeah I was thinking of connector solutions and your fix popped into my head and I had a chuckle. Decided to stick with the RTR electronics for as long as I can. Or at least the first few runs? That faster in reverse thing may or may not drive me crazy so we'll see... And you are correct Casey, if I got the kit I would have THREE incomplete trucks on my bench haha too much confusion on where funding would go. So that said I dont want to go nuts upgrading the enduro. Plus that gives time for the aftermarket to respond ;) HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE! be safe and enjoy our freedom/independence! |

Damn forgot to get a pinion too! Ah well, another excuse to go back to the store. Congrats shinchu! I know you’d been waiting for a new truck for a bit! |

Yep its my first ever new RTR purchase. Last time I bought a new off the shelf truck was a tamiya blackfoot back in 1990! And IIRC that was a kit (needed TX/RX and came in pieces). So yeah, pretty stoked to go out there with BIG TIRES! |

It’s fast out of the box on 3S. 14t I believe is the smallest that will fit without modification.

Right you are! I'm going to see how it runs out of the box though. My pop always told me "all cars have traction control. Its called your right foot." Gonna see if I can just go easy, but most likely I will swap in tje 14t to make for smoother starts in hairy situations. Also want to run it box stock for a while because another wise person I know in the auto industry (founder of club4ag and co developer for California of the scion frs: Motohide Miwa) "When people ask what mods should be done first I just tell them nothing. Seat time is the best thing you can do instead of throwing parts at the car. Just learn the platform as designed." Last edited by Shinchu; 07-05-2019 at 10:05 AM. |

Okay lets see what we can really do with this bumper... Solder up some "super bright" white LEDs and attach with axial clips Using the same axial LED pack, held in with some sticky snot... OH WAIT HOLD ON WUSSAT NOW?!?! it's all physically installed but nothing wired up yet. Did more goofing around but I will post that later. Still need to tuck the bumper. The bumper looks good with the lights in it. It's cool that the Axial lens and led holders work on these too! Um, I didn't think about picking up a smaller pinion. Glad you mentioned that. Luckily I still have some of my 30 year old pinions from my offroad days! Just so happens I have a 14T pinion! |
