Thanks to our good friend Ernie my pan hard mount is now nice and sturdy, I’ll be able to trail this weekend with confidence. All the clearance ya need and no binding at full compression. Thanks Ernie!

Also added a couple more decals

Got a few updates finalllly coming for the sendero.

Recently installed are the samix front and rear shock towers and a stiffener in the rear. I mistakenly only ordered one stiffener but found that the plastic tie rods from a rustler are the same length and used one of those with some shoulder screws up front. Great quality from these as expected.

Also installed are the STRC aluminum servo mount and rear chassis brace. These feel great and really helped firm up the chassis. I moved the old rear brace down the rails slightly to get a little more bracing. Tossed some brass samix hexes on as well to get away from the plastic hexes.

In the mail are a beef tubes front axle, samix chubs, and ssd brass knuckles. Looking to have it all installed Saturday and to get some wheel time in Sunday to see how it does.

STRC braces look nice! I’ll have to add them to my list along with the Samix.

I saw the Samix braces on AMain, but wasn’t sure if they were needed with the alum shock towers. What is your thoughts on them? Do the towers still flex with the alum braces and towers?

good question! I did this in stages. The first pieces were the samix shock towers and stiffener. There was still some chassis flex after these add ons, but not as much at the shock towers, it was all lower at the rails. At the towers it was fairly firm.

Once I added the st racing pieces is stiffened up a good bit, the st racing pieces, being on the chassis, did a lot for the noodle aspect.

Awesome, thanks!

I may use the chassis brace on just the front to help keep the "long skinny" panhard mount solid! I'll wait and see if I need it after the braces and towers are installed.

This past week the ssd brass knuckles and beef tubes front axle showed up. I installed these along with some samix chubs for the 10.2, which needed some massaging to work properly with the knuckles. I’m going to switch the chubs out when enduro specific versions are released for better fit. For now, these will do.

I didn’t take many pics of installing the parts but I will say it was nice to see SSD throw in a larger bearing for the knuckles. They could have saved money by letting the stock one be reused but they clearly thought it needed to be improved so they added a slightly larger bearing, while keeping the cost of the knuckles low at $39.99.

Here is a clip and a few pics from Friday. I was out with my brother so it was a light session.

A few updates have been made. I’ve switched from the STRC aluminum servo mount to the samix forward battery tray and servo mount. This relocates servo (and reverses the steering control).

I use a 3s zippy pack that’s fairly thin and it fits nicely in this tray on my 10.2 so I wanted to use it here to have the battery forward without being much higher. *edit, after looking at a picture on page 1, it looks like the battery may sit lower overall compared to the stock battery.

Also installed the ssd rear axle weights, not much to say here other than quality is what you’d expect. Excellent finish and were a breeze to install.

The last change was wheels and tires, I stole the 8 holes and BFG Krawlers for the trail king build so I put some contenders and boom racing hustlers on the sendero. Had these tires around for a few months now and have been wanting to try them. I like the size for the sendero.

This weekend will be for the Capra and sendero so I’ll have some clips next week with the most recent updates installed.

I’m on the fence, for the weight to cost ratio it’s so so. But it’s on there now and should be stronger at the very least.

What size tires did you put on it? They look good. Much more scale than the original stock tires

Thanks Max! Link below for the tires. They are 4.45”. I stuffed them with 4.5” CI foams but I should have got a size smaller. Ended up trimming the foams a bit instead.
