Kit News!!

The Builders kits are shipping finally!!

no this is not a rumor or hoax, just facts!

Got an E Mail today, Here Y'all can read along

"On Tue, June 11th, 2019 you requested to be put on a waitlist at TeamAssociated.com for part #40102 (ENDURO TRAIL TRUCK, BUILDERS K). We now have some good news; your wait is over!

Due to high demand, we have reserved you one of these items. You have until Thu, July 11th, 2019 at 3:38pm PST to complete your purchase on this item, otherwise it will be offered to the next person on the wait list.

Please note: Selecting express shipping at checkout will not make your item arrive faster. We will be shipping orders out at different times based on the ship-to address so all FastTrack orders arrive to customers on the same day."

Anyone know if the kit has metal ball ends? Can’t find it mentioned anywhere on their site.

Re: Kit News!!

why everyone is so hung up on metal balls, i don't understand. only place i have seen slop is the shock caps and i think that's the caps themselves, but we wont know until somebody gets the alloy versions.

TL,DR: YOUR BALLS ARE FINE LEAVE THEM ALONE LOL

Look forward to seeing the kit variant. Will likely grab one when they find their way to my LHS.

LOL. I’ve had plastic balls warp and limit free motion before, likely my fault for over tightening them, but since then I’ve been all about them metal balls.

:shock::shock::lmao::lmao:

Mine will be fine until I run for two or three hours....as the coral sand here is hard on plastic, usually the sand gets between the screw and ball causing instant slop. I swapped the axial balls out for VP brass and the stock rod ends are still going strong. Yes I know its better plastic, but for us it's not if, but when. I will build it with plastic lowers, metal uppers just to test them out. I'm getting the kit so I will have full Aluminum caps also."thumbsup"

https://www.rcplanet.com/associated-...alls-asc42054/ This is the parts # for the steel balls, The only build manual I can find says the balls are 42041. So I would say they are plastic, unless there is a separate manual for the builders kit. I bought some steel ones. "thumbsup"

Re: Kit News!!

I though I read they would try to stagger the shipping so everyone receives the kit on the 16th.

Yes Amain does have them in stock but my guess is they wont be shipping until they cant hit the 16th for delivery.

I'm thinking I might have to pick up one of these kits. Out of all the 1.9 scalers out right now, I dig this one the most.

Brad Geck from Associated told me all balls are plastic in the kit. That means 2 bags each for the shocks and 2 more for the links. the shocks are a slightly larger ball.

Yuppers, here's the quote from the email

Makes sense, I live across the country in FL, UPS sent me the shipper on mine, although Associated still shows processing in my account, and it will arrive on Monday the 15th.

What's different in the kit that's not on the RTR if anything?

From what I’ve gathered; Aluminum shock caps, machined metal trans gears, and links for 3 different wb in the box.

I wish it came with the hard plastic (rtr should have, too, upgrade ‘plastics’ on a crawler is strange to me) as well as the metal ball ends. However it is still a good deal and good platform.

Per UPS I'm receiving mine tomorrow! Woot. Sometimes it does pay off with Arizona being close to California.
