Enduro, here we endurgo! Well after a neighbor (I’ve never met) a few houses delivered my boxes with over $600 in items to me, it’s time for another build. Damn USPS. Bodie and bumpers are still in question. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Pics help too. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1659b8c3a7.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ha yep. I would have done the same for them, after I built it if course;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Progress. Digging the “hard” plastic. Wasn’t sure if it was worth it, but glad I went with them. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...794d5a8867.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Put your stock front batt box mount out back as a brace, looking fine!! Hang up and Drive |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Oh hey great idea!! Consider it done. Question in regards to overdrive. I understand what it does, and the benefits. But not how it works exactly. Are the gear ratios shown here referencing transmission gears, or spur and pinion gears?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f44f3806d4.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Transmission gears |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Copy that thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! If you look at the tranny, one set of stacked gears run the front and the other stack drives the rear. So when your changing the set of gears in just one stack your changing the ratio to the front only to over drive it. Hope all that makes sense!!! "thumbsup" Ernie |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Ah yes that does break it down to where I can understand it. Haven’t gotten to the tranny yet, but am I correct that it didn’t come with anything but the “stock” ratio gears? Also, if one was to choose the ratio for the best performance for low and slow rock crawling, which ratio is best? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! It comes with the 2 overdrive options, they dont include the 1:1 gear. In my opinion more overdrive is better for crawling, so the 11% gearing. |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Sweet thanks, that’s what I’m going with then Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
A couple more questions for you. Do the spur and pinion gears effect overdrive ratios at all? Instructions note using a 18t pinion gear. In trying to accomplish low and slow crawling, would you recommend going ahead and sticking with a 18t, or would a 17t or 16t or even lower tooth count be what I’d want to do? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
The Spur/Pinion gear can't affect an overdrive. The pinion/spur gear send torque to a transfer case (center diff) that then sends torque to both the front and rear diffs that distributes to the wheels. An overdrive is done either in the transfer case (center differential) and/or in either or both the front and rear diffs. |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Ah copy that thanks. Pinion gear recommendation? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Thats what I’m going to run, Im going to start with a 17 (as I have 16,17,19,20) Wheelspeed will be my key, might not have enough with a 17 Hang up and Drive |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Lol, is it me or is this the biggest receiver box ever. Well picked up the 66’ Ford Bronco. So going with an 11.8” WB. Hoping it’s a good look for the Enduro. Front bumper ideas? I do like the bumper shown in the pic there, not sure which brand/model it is though. Also in the pic showing the rear there’s no bumper. That due to how high the body is going to sit? I would like a rear bumper but not sure if there’s one that has an option to have it raised high enough to meet the back of the body. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cab77b8e3d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7e6063224e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4a35b631b5.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Gotcha. I’ll have to look and see if Werty Made or RC4WD make one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Looking good! Haven’t even had the opportunity to open the box on mine yet. 😠 |

Well heck, get on it! Everything else should take a back seat once a new kit is in hand right:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just got notice my boy is being sent overseas to an undisclosed location for 6 months or more. 😐 |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Hmm, well I’d say that definitely qualifies as a good reason to postpone a build. Best wishes to you and him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Found this interesting. Just about every rig I have has Incision links on it. Which has meant some tedious sore finger causing work. The link design here is basically exactly like the Incision links. Is putting grease on the metal threads a trick for easier rod end installs that I didn’t know about?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4b64f08d8f.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Any input here? Seem to have about 2mm of travel in and out with the universal. Does that travel need to be present, or should I put a shim in to get rid of it. If so where would be the correct place to put the shim, between the hex and the outer bearing?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...775275aa26.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2154205dbe.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
preferably straight off the stick, don't apply to lips then lips to threads. that's just a bad look."thumbsup" then just put 2 drivers through the open rod ends and spin away. no reason to wear out your thumbs doing that. |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Ok, this makes it so easy you won't believe it!!! I put a little machine wax on the threads and (drum Roll please) put the link in my drill, one of my drivers in the link end and run the in with the drill. Make sure you are at a very low speed on the drill. Run it down to the end of the threads, turn it around and put the link end the chuck and run the other one down. EASY PEASY!!! "thumbsup" ;-) Ernie |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! ^^^ From the master where i learned chapstick/machine wax |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Ha very good thanks. Great tips. I’d considered using my drill motor many times when nursing my callused finger tips. Just was concerned about damaging them, so never pulled the trigger, as it were[emoji12]. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! You need some end play, that sounds like more than normal, but a 5mm shim behind the pin, in front of the bearing,Traxxas rigs usually needed these , so I have some Hang up and Drive |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Awesome thanks man. Yep have some Traxxas 5mm shims in hand I will use. And ya thought the same, just seemed like a bit more play than I remember when building other kits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
Do the axles butt in the center? If they do, a quick lap will solve that. Im so used to axial slop, my VP’s were a dream fit wise, I should get to axles tomorrow evening when I will look and measure Hang up and Drive |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
You end up getting to your axles yet? Interesting thing. I got all the “hard” plastic options when I ordered the kit. Minus the caster/steering blocks which came today. Once installed I’ve found there is now zero slop with the front universals with no shims[emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Enduro, here we endurgo! Quote:
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8e0d69a5a6.jpg I used the hard blocks, perfect fit also! Hang up and Drive |
