Mine's just a Dlx, not an Sr5, but I've wanted one since I was a kid. Dad had a 79' 4x4 and then an 86 sr5 4runner. I loved those trucks haha

SUPER-clean job, my man!

Period-correct wheel/tire combo - I have a set of those Ground Hawgs for my Defender.

KC HiLites on a doubled-up rollbar for the crowning touch...

Now, just get a couple '80s bumper & rear window stickers and be done!

Thanks! I was going to run Iroks to get closer to the tread on my nankangs, but I fell in love with the ground hawgs when I came across them. I'm probably going to rock the vs410 bumpers for the time being, just because they look good on it and they're cheap haha. Working on putting a set of Kc's on the 1:1 as well but if I do it won't fit in the garage

Got out and ran the truck today, sort of babied it because I didn't want to waste the body right off the bat but still had a blast. Ended up putting the stock trail finder front bumper on it as well.

Been waiting on Krawler Koncepts to finish up some decals for it, but haven't really had time to get the little truck out. Really hoping to get it out soon though!

What is the benefit of using steel ball joints over the stock ones?

I just finished building mine and honestly, disappointed with all the slop in all the ball joints.

The seem to fit tighter, but I honestly don't know if it's anything you'd call a benefit.

I haven't had a box stock truck on the trails since 2014 when I bought my first scx10, and right off the rip this thing impresses me. The throttle is a little touchy, though I reversed the motor leads and the throttle trim and it seemed to help. I have changed one thing, I put a vanquish servo horn on the truck just because I don't care for the plastic ones. I also pushed the stock sliders in a notch, turned the shock collars up a hair to try to eliminate a bit of tire rub, and put some gorilla tape around the bottom of the body.

The tires seem pretty good for out of box, the stubby battery tray fits my 4600 2s packs from my sand scorcher perfectly, the 5 pole motor is pretty trick, and the rtr servo isn't too bad either.

I'm excited to get this thing out and about a bit, and see how it does on some real trails.

Which 4600 2S pack are you running that fits the shorty tray?

Got the truck out again for the first time in a while, and put a Reefs 422 in it.

Awesome looking Enduro!!! Would you recommend the enduro as a general bashing and trail truck?

It’s decently peppy on 3S, but it’s definitely not for bashing. It’s like a brisk walking pace at full clip. Fun on trails and a very capable overall rig.

Thanks for the info. But asking more around durability of it. If I run a brushless system in it to get it faster. Would it last the bashing?

Should be fine, and if you're really worried about it, they have metal gears available as an upgrade for the transmission.

In the quality departement the truck should handle a bash pretty fine. I think the chassis setup, solid axles, relative narrow and high stance, will hinder the hi-speed performance.
Don't expect it to keep up with a Slash.
My 2 cents

Yeah. Don’t expect it to keep up with a slash for example. I like scale type bashing. So far my trx4 has held up the beat to that kind of abuse.
