Great work as usual Ernie!

Glad to see I could bring back some fond memories with the tilting body.

Hey Topher Build, I have run a couple packs through my endure and the offset axle is holding up very well. With the extra weight it climbs as good or even better than anything I have built! I'm only going to do 3 more of these, so do you still want to do one? SSD was nice enough to sell 3 sets of the offset unis from his Trail King kit axle so I already have those and could start on it next week. I still need to run some numbers to see what my out of pocket is and then see what we come up with as far as cost. Are you still game? In talking with SSD I bet he will coming up with something in the next few months. (He already had it in the works before designed mine. Probably the biggest reason I'm only going to do 3 more. "thumbsup"

"thumbsup" Yes, Katan went way out of his way getting the Universals from England to Oregon!!! Great guy! I think being a Hobbyist designer played a little into his support! (And I think he like my design). "thumbsup"

Thanks Justin, I sent a package to you and Joss today, I think it should make a big difference in her steering. "thumbsup"

So svt923 has already showed us how to redo and strengthen our pan hard bar mount at the frame. So today I decided it was time for me to give it a try. I was being lazy and didn't want to break down my truck to braze a mount to the frame, so came up with this.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...1-IMG_1871.jpg

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...3-IMG_1873.jpg

So I'm trying to design something you guys could build. I want it to be a bolt on and I'm using the front hole of the shock mount as a built in anchor point. But for it to be strong enough I needed to drill and tap a second hole.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...2-IMG_1872.jpg

Pretty simple to make, I had a old ascender frame and used the outside slider C channel to make the mount. And a piece of 1/4" square rod. I didn't even need to drill any holes in the frame piece! The piece of channel locks in on the top and bottom of the endure frame. I had to trim the tabs on the top and bottom of the shock mount and then trimmed the pan hard mount off of it.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...4-IMG_1874.jpg

Compressed, and no binding or suspension touching anywhere on the links.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...5-IMG_1879.jpg

And full droop.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...6-IMG_1880.jpg

Hope some of you try it, let me know if you need any help.
Ernie

Very clever use of an old rail.

One day I’ll have a garage and be able to do some real fab work. Till then I’ll keep reading along and learning with all the great stuff y’all come up with. "thumbsup"

Great work! I'm surprised it's taken so long for things to come out for this truck that aren't from ElementRC themselves as far as the aftermarket is concerned.

Fine work on that panhard mount, sir.

I was also lazy and didn't want to take my truck apart so I brazed on the panhard mount before building. Unfortunately, my truck has been taken apart like 6 times before even being run so that plan hasn't worked out so well. :lmao:

I'm sure SSD is working on a fix, would you like to try one in the meantime?

Ok, another boring update. :ror:

I decided I wanted a weighted, more rock friendly rear axle.

A brass tube start.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...1-IMG_1885.jpg

Getting them ready for a Bar-B Que.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...2-IMG_1886.jpg

The shock/link mount are repurposed from brass left over from when I was building weights for the TRX4.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...3-IMG_1887.jpg

Black hi heat engine paint at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. ;-)

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...4-IMG_1889.jpg

A little over 3 oz. more than stock.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...5-IMG_1891.jpg

I'm using a SSD center with a high pinion mount.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...6-IMG_1892.jpg

Compared to stock.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...7-IMG_1893.jpg

Not so many corners to hang up on rocks.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...8-IMG_1894.jpg

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...9-IMG_1896.jpg

mounted up really nice, link/shock mounts are positioned the same as stock.

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...0-IMG_1897.jpg

https://i1264.photobucket.com/albums...2-IMG_1899.jpg

A nice clean look?

Thanks for looking,
Ernie
