NH Enduro Project

Few weeks back I attended a crawling open house event it Lonesome Valley Raceway in Canterbury and got super lucky wining a new Element enduro. Bit of an upgrade from my RedCat Gen 7 I was using :lmao:

I'm a sucker for a pretty blue truck so I sprayed it with some Arrival Blue that I had and got the chrome kit from Element.

Bumpers are home made from mostly 9/32 brass K&S tubing. Not sure how they'll last but they came out pretty decent.

Had a couple leaking shock tops so I decided to go with the setup that my SC10 Associated trucks have, Bleeder screw caps, factory team blue shock bushings and 4/40 x 3/4 cap screws are needed for the upgrade. Works great and also no longer moves so much on the bushings.

Had an extra set of body stiffeners from the chrome kit so I used them on the outer edges of the body. Very solid now!

Next, need to do an interior and some wider hexes so I can mount these wheels without them rubbing the hubs...

Awesome job!

I was waiting for the first person to use either the chrome or the satin finish trim offered as an option.

Bumpers are SWEET!

Great choice on the blue paint and bumpers match the look as well.

First off, those bumpers are fantastic! "thumbsup"

I like what you did with the bleeder caps and shock bushings. Do you have the part numbers on those?
I am impatiently waiting for folks to part out the Enduro on the bay so I can get a few sets of the Enduro shocks to replace on my SCX10.2 rigs. The Associated shocks are so smooth and leak free.

Great looking Enduro![emoji106] I like that shade of blue and great idea for the shocks. I’ll have to look into that for my shocks.

Thanks all! Years of soldering slotcar chassis came in handy :ror:

The bleeder caps are Associated #6443 then you could drill out the holes for the stock shock bushings or get the Factory team bushings #1781 and then you'll need four 4-40 x 3/4 long screws

Re: NH Enduro Project

I'm using some cheap Amazon beadlocks that rub the hubs also so I'll be interested in what you use for the hexs. Keep us posted, and congrats on the new toy!

Re: NH Enduro Project

Somebody mentioned brass KNK hexes in another thread. The enduro uses 6mm wide. Maybe bump up to an 8mm?

BEAUTIFUL truck! Nice work all around, and thanks for the shock cap info! Might want to post that in the upgrades thread?

Re: NH Enduro Project

I used bushings and stuff to shim the wheel from the hex and at least with the wheels I have 8mm was still allowing it o rub so I went with 9mm. The issue is where the metal arm is on top so a bit could be dremeled off but not alot. Will let you know how they fit.

Re: NH Enduro Project

I tried grinding some on the upper steering arm but still have some interference. I'll keep working on it, but will look for a better option.

Re: NH Enduro Project

Got the 9mm hex spacers from Amazon today. First issue I found is the stock drive pins are too long but they include shorter ones. Second the spacers didn't seem to want to go on, I found that the center bore for the 5mm dia wasn't deep enough. I used a #8 (.199) drill bit in a hand drill and placed the hex in an old wheel so I could hold it and drilled the center out a bit, this actually worked better than I thought. "thumbsup"

Now that they went on it was pretty straightforward to install. There is just enough clearance on the steering bracket, I don't think 8mm would have been enough, at least with these wheels. These are the $34 wheel set from Amazon so your mileage may vary.

Next up was the interior. another cheap knockoff purchase from Amazon this is from Injora. I cut it after the front seats and cut about 3/4 long from the back and gooped it to the front piece. Found a wrestler guy at Walmart to drive for now...

Good to know about the hex's you used. I found some that are listed as 7mm that worked for me!
