UPDATE: 5/8/20 I added a second version that works with the IFS conversion. I just posted up the STL files for the lowered battery tray I designed, free to download. Its the shorty version, I asked if folks wanted the long version too but didn't hear a peep. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3859065 Copied from my build thread: Quote:

My pleasure guys. I didn't see anyone else hack up the stock tray like I did originally so I figured this would make it much more accessible and acceptable. I should also note that these wont work with the inner fenders. Though maybe it could be modified to, I think maybe if the ends had just the bottom portions removed while leaving just a bit (to keep the battery from sliding out) it may just clear. I just dont have a stock setup to test with anymore, my slider/trays are angled upwards a fair bit. I also have a feeling even if I did that the battery itself might interfere. Oh and dont forget to flip the crossmember that the tray mounts to when you mount the new tray Last edited by HumboldtEF; 09-13-2019 at 11:54 AM. |

I just picked up an IFS kit and found this design needed a little tweaking to make work. First I modified the old version and then I modeled the modifications. I basically had to remove the slot for the battery strap and put a notch in the tray to clear the servo. even with the notch in the tray the battery hasn't lost any space, shown with a hardpack battery. ![]() ![]() ![]() the link is the same just print the file called IFS compatible https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3859065 Oh and I added another version that removes the shelf for the BEC this is the "Battery tray 2" STL Last edited by HumboldtEF; 05-08-2020 at 01:22 PM. |
