DIY diff skids Because I don't have unlimited funds, it often becomes necessary to be creative with what I have. I also don't like any of the skids I've see because they're too bulky. I wanted something light, with losing any more ground clearance than necessary. I hope these work as I blew the last bit of fun money I had to get a set of hard Enduro Beef Tube axles, and I want something to help protect them. The stainless steel strapping is left over from a TV antenna install years ago. I cut it with tin snips. Attached with 3M tape in a few spots. I bent and formed the strapping to fit tight enough to hold it self in place even without the tape. It was a little tricky getting the skid in place with the tape. I know it's off center a little, but it's good enough for test purposes. I'll post an update when I've had a chance to see if they stay in place and don't cause any hang ups. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4589-67505.jpg http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4589-67506.jpg http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4589-67507.jpg http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4589-67508.jpg http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4589-67510.jpg http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4589-67511.jpg |
