hobbywing 1080 esc help So I have the hw1080 installed and have been messing with different settings in hopes to make the reverse less jumpy i switched setting 6 (max reverse) to 1(25%) when i do this it seems to make the rig go slower in forwards and nothing in reverse? seems weird, any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
Re: hobbywing 1080 esc help Try setting it back to default settings and switching the leads. Positive motor wire into negative esc wire and vise versa. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

right on will give that a shot... |
Re: hobbywing 1080 esc help 1) Did you calibrate your ESC with your transmitter per the HW instructions? or 2) What is the timing setting of your motor? |

1. I did program per the instructions. 2. not sure the timing setting, it is a stock element enduro??!! |
Re: hobbywing 1080 esc help There are you tube videos that walk you through setting it up if your in doubt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Oh yeah definitely watched plenty of videos. confident on setting it up. nobody had the issue I stated in the OP. |
Re: hobbywing 1080 esc help Mine did that initially too. I figured the (stock) overdrive had something to do with it. I fixed it by first calibrating the receiver/radio, then by setting the ESC exactly like the YouTube video (guy with a laptop) and it is S M O O T H. RTR radio and receiver, stock motor. Even the servo works better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: hobbywing 1080 esc help "switching the leads" Comment to think about, if and when back up & brake lights are added. I believe, the operation of same will be hosed . Having the 1030, I was able to tame the reverse hop and over speed. Using the transmitter throttle parameters. Lowering / restricting reverse max speed, no need for 100mph reverse capabilities :lmao: pep |
