Nice to see a thread for this rig! I saw a few of your youtube vids of it at CDM. Is it just me, or is this thing screaming for a new bronco body? |

| Re: Soze's Enduro Trailwalker RTR Yup, I already picked up some springs for the front. They're the springs that Aaron Lane from Element said he used when developing the IFS. They're lighter than the ones that actually came with the IFS kit.

Just catching up on my Trailwalker updates... Alright so this run was bittersweet for me. I didn't get much footage for a reason. I threw on the Gearhead RC Slot Mag v1 wheels (Thanks Jato) and Pro-Line Class 1 BGF KM3 tires in G8 Compound. First the good... This day kind of opened up my eyes to the capability of the IFS setup when it conquered 2 very difficult lines that I thought this setup had no business doing and didn't expect for it to. Holy smokes it got the wheels turning in my head on how to tune the truck to make those lines more consistently. Now the bad... I didn't get any of those difficult lines on video! None! Nada! (Don't worry, I got another video coming from the following week where I did capture it on video). Also bad.... The reason I didn't get much footage is because the damn rear upper link kept pulling out of the rod-end! Like 6 times! This has never happened on my Sendero. Needless to say, I'm going to be switching out the rod-end for something else, but eventually, I'll switch out the links altogether. Last edited by soze; 08-07-2020 at 09:34 AM. |

I added some weight to the front using SSD Brass knuckles for the Element Enduro (eBay). As usual SSD makes some real beauties for brass weights. I also added stiffer Element Enduro Yellow springs (eBay) to the rear of the truck to counteract the stiffness of the front IFS setup. You'll also notice that I added some 3D printed shock tower braces designed by our very own HumboldtEF. I also added a rear chassis brace by 3DtoRC. The rear chassis brace is temporary though, as I think I'll need to create my own to clear some future upgrades as this one seems to be designed to only account for stock links. Alright, this is the run where the Element Trailwalker with IFS and class 1 tires starts to pull off some difficult lines and show its potential capability. Although I made it up some pretty nice lines, I can tell there is still some room for improvement! Excited about the challenges this rig gives me on the rocks! It feels good when you make it up some lines that even rigs with solid front axles and 4.75" tires struggle to make up! Some notable lines conquered by this Class 1 IFS rig! 7:57 & 9:04 - same line 10:13 11:54 13:46 19:10 |

This is what I've been waiting to see! Great video! It's awesome to see the IFS climbing so well on what looks to be very difficult lines! And on Class 1 tires! Very impressive! This rig and video series has been my favorite to watch so far. These Element Enduro's have really impressed me and have become my favorites to drive. They are a simple design yet very capable! I'm looking forward to getting the SSD brass knuckles and springs for mine and seeing if mine will perform as good as yours! Oh and great pics too! |

This morning started out with a light sprinkling of rain at the beach, so a lot of the rocks were damp and slippery. Unfortunately that made it really tough on the IFS Trailwalker, and I just had to wait for the sun to come out a little to dry the rocks before I could try more difficult stuff. Didn't leave me enough time to get more footage though. I actually had planned to run this rig after I did my next round of upgrades, but the parts took longer than expected to arrive, so I just ran it with one of the 2 changes that I'll post about later. |

Nice work with this rig! Are those 1.55 still or 1.9? I dont think I have seen 1.55 from proline. Anyway did you sort the rear upper rod end issue? I run traxxas rod ends on my ascender. Never a single problem. |

I'm using the Pro-Line 1.9 Class 1 BFG KM3. They work really well for a class 1 tire. I haven't found a 1.55 tire I like yet. I wish Pro-Line made 1.55 tires in their G8 compound as I'm a real fan of it.

Alright the latest updates for my Enduro Trailwalker. - Club 5 Racing High Clearance Links for the Trailrunner (because it's rear links only for IFS setups) (eBay) - Associated #7430 Red Springs rated at 3.9 (eBay) Here are the Club 5 High Clearance links for the Trailrunner Here are the Associated Red Springs rated at 3.9 These red springs are what Aaron Lane from Element RC used to test his IFS design. They're softer than the springs that come with the IFS. You can also see that they're a little shorter as well, but that's ok, because you can just spin the spring retainer down so that they don't pop out. New springs on the truck So the Club 5 links come with Traxxas style rod-ends. Plastic is good and I will not have to worry about rod-ends pulling out anymore. They also come with metal pivot balls. I had to remove my 3D printed chassis brace since it was designed with the stock links in mind. The high clearance links hit it on compression. I will try to design my own to clear the new links. Upper links installed. Lower links installed. A look at the 2 new changes to the rig. Compressing the rear suspension Now, I've always seen confusion regarding how to mount the high clearance links made by Club 5. People seem to be confused about whether to mount the short side at the skid, or the long side at the skid. Club 5 has them mounted short side at the skid on their website, and I think I know why. You'll notice in the picture above, with the short side mounted at the skid, the links follow the line of the driveshaft. In a way it could protect the driveshaft a little bit. Mounting it with the long side at the skid will expose the drive shaft more often to be scraped against. |

Oh, I like them rear links! Added to my need list! I think the red springs should work great! Being a little shorter would work out fine for me. I'm currently running mine with some droop anyways. Added them to my list also! I forget. Did you install the Club5 high clearance links on you Sendero? I've been thinking about gettting them for my Sendero. Great video too! Like I commented on YT, that line at 3:10 was awesome to watch! I had to watch that a few times! |

Looks great and does work! I just put the club5 links on mine as well. I ran them the other way and made the uppers a little longer to angle the pinion up a bit. |

| Re: Soze's Enduro Trailwalker RTR That's a good idea actually. I might make the uppers a little longer on mine to completely move the driveshaft out of harm's way on breakovers.

links. Ended up with 12.5" wb instead of the 12.3. Bent ends seemed the way to go. Now you have me thinking on the SSD knuckles. I just put a set on my mini, (AR44's), such nice products.
