Lack of aftermarket support

Ok everyone I have a Trailwalker which I’ve switched to a Comanche body. Add 1.9 hyrax tires. Did the o.d gearing in. I find the rig for what it is does a great job. But the frustration is the lack of aftermarket upgrades. Yes some parts from an SCX10-2 fit here and there. This r/c has been out for quite a while. The reviews for the Enduro/Sendero were very good. Even the reviewers were stating they couldn’t wait for the aftermarket to make stuff. Guess they passed and stuck with Axial and Traxxas.

What do you want, that is not available?

Re: Lack of aftermarket support

Check SSD. There is a lot of good stuff for the Enduro.
Samix also has some nice parts.

My failure on mine is the ball socket keep pulling off the thread links on the front suspension. I’ve found a couple companies making the links not the rod ends. After searching I did find a company that had high clearance links and rods. But when you search you fin Axial parts galore. I had axial . Got board and sold it.

Club5 has links with traxxas rod ends. - "Husky Link" Hi-Clearance Suspension Links for Element Enduro - Club 5 Racing

I'd argue there's actually a good amount of aftermarket for a truck that's only a year old.

Have you checked this thread?

I’d have to agree, yes of course the Axial and Traxxas have huge aftermarket availability scx10 is the IBM of crawlers, the trx4 to quote Stella Artois is reassuringly expensive (not saying unreasonably).. so far everything I have wanted and many things I’ve searched for to know what’s available. And to be honest, very little isn’t adaptable from the scx10 or Traxxas. And to be honest, most upgrades are for the fun of doing it, the personalisation if you like. My biggest issue is everything is US or China based, which being in the UK means additional import fees...

Element Sendero 1/10. Crawler/Trailer.
Scx24 crc. Crawler 1/24.
Wltoys a212. Shortcourse 1/24.
Wltoys k969. Drifty 1/28

Glad I read this think I'll buy another trx4

Re: Lack of aftermarket support

I want to thank everyone who has helped me locate aftermarket parts. I’ve tried to keep my sales local with my local hobby shop. My local hobby shop seems to carry the popular stuff and will get new brands in also. I.E Element Trailwalker and Sendro and the builder kit. But they carry the popular parts for Axial and Traxxas. So I’ll take the blame on fully researching.

Club5, Samix, SSD, and a few other companies are catching up quickly. It's a brand new vehicle from a new company. Give it time.

Re: Lack of aftermarket support

Yeah, there's a ton of aftermarket support for this truck. The original SCX had a good head start as it was based off the AX10. Thing is, this truck is better out of the box than the SCX10 II and many others, while being less costly than the TRX4. It's a great platform, and our options are nice today compared to when scale trucks where overpriced Tamiya kits or piecing it all together from bits here and there.

I am finding lots of parts with the help of everyone here. I limited my search to the manufacturers that like to deal in the old faithful. I found what I hope is a nice set of Hudky high clearance links off of eBay.

Beeftubes has link sets if you're also looking for some extra weight

https://www.beeftubes.com/store/p331...2_-_BRASS.html

You'll find many parts like links and rod ends can be used on other rigs, just check the lengths.

I assume this is what you found on Ebay, Club 5 Racing.

those should be a good set, they use the TRX4 rod ends which are great. I also had a rod end pull loose, I measured to see how much thread grab they had and its a laughable amount, I forget the number but it was a fraction of a milometer its so little they dont even end up threading the inside of the rod ends.

Re: Lack of aftermarket support

They updated the rod ends a while back, the new ones shouldn’t have links popping out like the old ones did.

Thats nice, I wonder if my newer kit has those or not.

I picked up my kit in April and it shipped from Horizon direct, no issue with the rod ends on mine. During setup and testing my son has tortured it pretty well and there have been zero issues with rod ends popping.

Mine did great for a while. I went to a local crawl spot and that’s the first time one end came off. My bank yard course the other side pulled off.

It was a running change from what I understand so no real way to tell until they start popping out. It happened months back iirc, early in the TW release maybe
