That looked like a straight up up hill.
Great build and climb.

Thanks, that’s the B line of Jetro’s crack. It is indeed almost vertical and very difficult to clear regularly.

We went back out last Saturday for a club event and I was the only one to clear it.

Several got close, and it took me several attempts to do it, but zi got it.

Conditions make a big difference for sure. It was colder and windier that on the previous Saturday in the video and that increased the difficulty.

I’ve git a new link riser for the rear as well as a new set of tires inbound.

Going to go back and see if it helps or hurts on this line.

With any luck, next time I can get some footage of one of our other favorite lines called Turk’s Terror. Another challenging line I really enjoy!

Picked up a new set of tires/wheels/foams for the Minion and got them installed.

Picked up a set of the J Concepts Landmines in the Green compound. A set of black Chanquish beadlock wheels, and Pro Line duel stage foams.

Also been playing around with weight and the layout of my electronic.

Dropped some weight from the front. While it helps on climbs, my front weight bias was hurting me on down hill lines.

This is my final layout. Dropped the duel battery packs, I found it just wasn’t needed. I’m getting over 30 minutes run time from the 650 packs.

So a single pack saves weight and helped me to achieve the weight bias I was wanting.

60-40 front to back and 50-50 side to side is optimal.

I’d say I hit it pretty close.

Even with the addition of the Capra axles, I’m at 4.5 pounds.

I have a few more parts inbound. Still tweaking to get the most out of this rig.

The Minion and I attended my first comp in over a decade last weekend in Albuquerque NM. After our last crawl, I had some things I wanted to try. So this was an opportunity for me to do some testing in a new area,

Good turnout!

First change I made was I switched over to a set of 1.9 J-Concepts Landmines in the Green compound and I’m thoroughly impressed.

They sidebilled great and climbed aggressively!

At the bare minimum, they as good as my Hyrax or Crawlers in Predator, maybe better in some locations?

I added the Super Shafty rear Link Riser to assist in my climbs.

Worked great, made a 50 foot tall vertical climb at the comp, wish someone would have got a pic of that! 😐

I switched to the Mini T pink springs up front, added a 5mm spacer under my front shock piston to limit travel and went to 60wt oil from 40 weight. It really settled the front.

Feels very planted and smooth now!

I lower the body even more. Over half an inch lower than before. Just trying to get everything as low as possible!

Not sure it it’s really noticeable in this pic?

I also switched from Pro Line Duel Stage foams to TOR VooDoo Halo foams.

1.9 Halo Air Downs up front and 1.9 Halo Whites in the rear.

Very different from CI l’s or the Pro Line Duel Stage foams I’m used to using.

I was skeptical at first, but they really worked well on the indoor course we ran after the comp.

Check out the wrinkle on that tire! 😁

Overall I’m very pleased with the results. It crawls like a goat and clings to the rocks like spider!
