| Best bumpers, bang for buck Sendero Mods?
Hey all - Just got my first scale rig, the Sendero. Pretty stoked on it! So far its bone stock, but I've moved the obnoxious bumpers out of the way as much as I can. Especially in the rear, that still doesn't seem to be enough. So what I'm gathering is frame rail spacing and tubular bumper mount spacing is pretty universal across brands and platforms? I can pretty much buy parts from various vendors for various trucks and they *should* fit? Does this apply much more broadly across parts / components? I haven't been into this for about 20 years, and back then everything felt very proprietary, so this is a fun new world. Anyway - I'm looking to get new bumpers. I'm shocked at the amount of little fab shops! Although I admit, I don't really want to drop $100 on a set of alloy bumpers right now. Has any one had success with cheaper options lining up well on the Sendero body? How about 3D printed bumpers? Does a Nylon (or other material) hold up to the abuse for long enough to make sense? I'd love to hear any other great bang for the buck mods that will make it more fun on the trail. I'm more focused on performance improvements / lighting that fashion accessories. |

+1 on the VS4-10 bumpers. I have an Ultra and am really impressed with those bumpers. I haven't tried to fit them on my Sendero yet, but they are a reasonably priced bumper. I ended up buying some bumpers from ScalerFab when the kit first came out. Wasn't a lot of options at the time and I was happy with the look. They have performed really well and are still in great shape after many many hours on the rocks. I have also used the Element bumper that was designed for the Trailwalker. Low cost and a lot less clunky than the stock Sendero bumper. I believe bumpers designed for the SCX10.2 will fit directly on the Element products as well. That opens up the possibilities significantly. Enjoy the rig! The Sendero was my first crawler and I have been enjoying it tremendously. Very capable truck. |

I will also chime in on the VS4 plastic bumpers. I’m running the rear and it works well. Up front is a GMade(GS01),with fair lead and shackles, also plastic with alloy parts. The wife’s running a Jeep Comanche body and these also fit perfect Hang up and Drive Last edited by mikemcE; 08-04-2020 at 06:43 PM. |

Also been running the VS410 Pro bumpers as well. Really great bang for the buck. Ended trimming them down for my Colorado build. Got a Trailwalker bumper coming this week, which should be another good option.

Another excellent budget bumper is the G-Made GS01 front bumper - its tubes are flexible plastic, but it has a skid and fairlead made from aluminum: |

Another vote for the G-Made GS01 front bumper. I also like the Trailwalker front bumper. I am currently running this bumper and it works great and has a nice approach angle. |

I massaged the stock one for decent clearence. Just get creative with the dremel and cut away material from around the mount pegs. |

Great post. I was thinking the same question about the bumpers. The rear of the body gets hump up and I wanted a simple bumper to help slide off obstacles. The ornate metal ones with a spare tire all over amazon and ebay did not interest me. Thanks for sharing!
