Default Element trans flip

So I have been doing some rough mock ups on my Enduro builders kit and if you flip the trans as per the manual it actually moves the front driveshaft at the trans side further to the rear and slightly lessens the front driveshaft angle. It may only be 5-10mm but it definitely is a more shallow angle.

Anyone else done this, any other advantages or disadvantages ive missed?

Personally I think it puts too much weight on the side that compresses under load accentuating torque twist potentially (due to motor placement). I'd rather have extra weight on the side that lifts during torque twist that the opposite side.

I took my tranny to a belt sander and removed about 4mm off the bottom which will reduce the driveshaft angle too. Just use shorter fasteners.
You can see what I did in my build thread here (linked to the correct post) Enduro Kit, Jim

Tried the flipped transmission when I first built my element. Found it a bit rough to change/remove the motor, adjust pinion mess and a few other items.

Had to swap back when I installed a SOR racing kit onto the Enduro.

How do you rate the epx kit?

Derka, I didn’t see this post till now but I did purchase the top shaft option and flipped the transmission. For me , the juice was worth the squeeze. Running a Robinson racing spur and the forward weight bias is awesome. I don’t get a lot of torque twist running my desert lizard setup and stiff foams in the back.
First Comp this weekend, I’ll let you know. It’s a good mod in my opinion.

I have been really enjoying it, and it has been preforming well for me. It is really stable on the climbs now, and can even bump the throttle when needed without getting out of shape.

I like what I am hearing!

I recently did a g-speed chassis swap on an Enduro. I would be curious to compare the performance advantages of the two options. Gonna have to give this kit a try methinks.
