I am glad I found this post cause this is exactly what I have in mind so thank you for the heads up with the shock towers

I'm a little bummed about the rear cross brace/bumper mount as I will be using the builders kit 2 and as it is my first go at an Element platform I have no stubby brace so may have to trim the standard one back
Wait a minute....
Ok, just compared the ecto manual and the builders kit 2 and they both have the same rear brace so i'll be fine

With regards to the floor boards I am going to get the gatekeeper floor boards and cut off the rear trailing arm section which will allow for the body to fit perfectly. They both have the same mounting holes and I can then keep the standard boards for future builds/bodies.
Glad this was useful to you and look fwd to seeing your rig, so add pics of your build here when ready. One thing tho, I'm looking at the Element Enduro Builder Kit manual as I type this and the front and rear chassis cross members are NOt the same: https://img2.associatedelectrics.com...-Kit-40102.pdf

Thanks Jim. I will do!

The original Enduro builders kit has different bumper mounts but the Builders kit 2 has the same as the ecto!

Looks good! Care to share where you found the builder's kit on closeout?

Hey that looks really good what wheelbase did you set that up for? Are you running the long links in the rear or standard?

Thanks for kind words, I'm running the standard links for the Element Enduro Builders Kit (1) that yields a 313mm wheelbase. The only real mod, was to slide the shocks mounts forward to the next set of holes so as to clear the lower part of the body's rear bed.

Your build sure is the one that got me in to getting me the Ecto cabin, as you told what i was pondering, being that all i pretty much need to do is to just move the rear shock mounts a bit forward.

Oh, I like what you did with the two-tone paint job, looks awesome! My only suggestion would be to apply the window stickers to dress up the looks a bit.

Yeah, its just a progress pic, not finished.
I think im sprayin matte/flat clearcoat to it, and bit of weathering liquids, and naturally add the window frames as well.

It has high clearance links, smaller pinion, 20t 5-slot engine, pen spring mod, 1080 Hobbywing, and unfinished servo winch controlled by cars original esc. I shortened the frame rails about 3/8" or 10mm to get bumper closer to the grille.

Just wanted to thank and give you the credits for the inspiration

Jim, hope you don't mind me adding a pic...
I used my Powerwagon body fender shapes on the Ecto body. My 4.75" tires rub badly in front on the stock Ecto body. No need to stick with the Ecto fender shapes if you don't want to (there is stock fender cut lines to try & hide). And virtually no tire rubbing for me even while lowering the stance. Stock Ecto except for tires/wheels.

Not at all, the more examples of Ecto bodied crawlers the better! I dig that gunmetal bluish color, mind me asking what it is?

Thanks Jim. Its Tamiya rattle can fogging a few colors... In order... pearl clear, bright gun metal, gunmetal, dark metallic blue, finishing with indy silver as my backer.
I was looking for a blue tinted silver/grey. Old school color but custom looking.

I added a 4inch light bar and took it out tonight to test it. It’s pretty darn bright. Amazon special.
