Default A Berger and a shake

Thought I would post up my sorta build thread cause it looks like the thing to do So yea anyway I'm not much in the typing department so I'll let a lot of the pics do the talking anyway here's what I got:

The Berg kit
Integy 55s
TCS chassis
TCS HC links
645MG Hitec
225MG Hitec dig
Panthers
Mayhem Spiders two weeks out still so I'll have to run the stockers for now
Novak Rooster til someone gives me a Mamba

First Santa Clause finally came today and here's what he left me

Anyway yea I got the steering servo mounted probably need to adjust it a bit later when I get to the links

Got the motors mounted, pretty simple task

Assembled the shocks and used the small spacer and o-ring from a set of Stampede shocks to keep them from leaking. Fit perfect.

You can see here I printed out Robb's wiring diagram for the dig, I hate electronics, Thanks Robb!

Strarted out mounting the switches and setting up the endpoints. Works really good, I just servo taped them to the servo for now but it seems to be holding well, I cycled it a thousand times and they haven't budged, we'll see.

Got it all wired up and now I gotta bandage my fingers I not so good with solder, in the second pic you can kinda see how the switch works in the full throw. I don't spend as much on cameras as I do crawlers so there you go

Got the chassis started, thanks TCS, it's a beauty

Got the steering done...I bought a crapton of revo ends but I'm thinking I want to try the stockers first I don't right away see what's wrong with them other than the o-rings wearing

Got the dig mounted, it was tight squeeze. The rims are temporary waiting on my Mayhems but the tires seem very promising

A couple mock-ups of the body..think I need to trim down the sides some and lower it a bit

3" of belly clearance, is that too much? Anyway need to do the rest of the wiring yet but I need pizza now

I like you went the extra step in adding front and rear dig. I would say you steering linkage is low but it's your rig and it looks great.

3" of clearance is perfect for these rigs. Remember you dont have the tranny and motor on the skid now, thats a lot less weight up there so take advantage of that clearance. Only downside is the higher you go the more axle steer starts to become apparent.

Looking good Jason!!!

When you get around to replacing the link ends (if you do), pick up some Maxx rod ends. They aren't as beefy as the Revos, but they directly screw onto the original hardware, and are almost the exact same length. They are a pretty much a direct replacement.

If the tires do any rubbing, remember the shocks and links can easily be brought to the inside of the mounts.

The DIG switch looks great! Let me know if you get it running with that horn, or if you have to switch over the quarter-round servo.

Don't worry about the belly clearance until you notice a problem. My latest rig is running over 3.5" and I have no complaints about it.

Thanks, I tried several ways to get the linkage up but the servo won't go in a good position to raise it, any help would be appreciated

Yea you know my only complaint with this kit is the lack of a direction sheet and I feel real strongly that there should have been one in there along with maybe some decals but I'm not blaming anyone. the kit was unshrinkwrapped when I recieved it so who knows, but yea I took a chance putting the axle links to the outside, Thanks Robb

Nice job on the build. You're dig looks exactly like mine. I found the width of the stock rims to be not so much of a problem, but I got some berg offsets comming anyway.

Now where's that shake?

Nice build, I like how you set up the dig.

For the fingers just wear a glove when soldering, I get made fun of at the track sometimes, but that might be because I only wear one and look like Michele Jackson.

As for the micro switches on the dig, if you see them coming loose, try zip ties to wrap around them.
