| 2 ESC's & 4 Channel .. no DIG needed ?
I'm trying to understand something (warning, Nitro monkey here) I ordered my Berg with 2 x brushless + 2 x ESC's I have a 4 Chan Nomadio & a 6 Channel DX6i (I'd prefer to use the Nomadio) If I have 2 ESC's .. does it mean I dont need a DIG to power off the front or the back motors ? |

Correct. Each speed controler will control its own axles speed, brake, etc.

I'm in process of setting this up now, I have extensive practice with both the React and the Sensor in carpet racing and the windows interface is awesome just need to figure out what to set up here! here is what I've got so far Ch3 = 2nd ESC, set up in rcdesktop as thr/brk mode, that makes it work simultanious with the other ESC off the trigger Next choose a softkey for Ch3 trim, set the steps to something that will toggle large enough increments to make a quick change but still give you good control of the trim stopping place, I tried 10 then 20 will probably settle on 17ish, trick here is to be able to move trim for channel 3 to a point that partial throttle trigger still yields drag brake while at the same time when you let off trigger ch3 does not go into reverse, I think the programmable options on the Tekin ESC will allow me to set a wide neutral range which should help. Good luck and let me know if anyone finds a better way. Last edited by Miller Tyme; 06-23-2008 at 07:03 PM. |

With the nomadio you can do a very simple to use program that will allow channels two and three to work together off the throttle trigger. Then set your preferred soft key to limit the max end point on channel two to zero. If you push this soft key button it will keep your throttle working on channel three normal and hold the dragbrake on channel two. When you want to reengage the channel two you just push the button a second time and both channel two and three will be normal again. Then set a second preferred soft key to limit the max end pint on channel three to zero. If you push this soft key button it will keep your throttle working on channel two normally and hold the dragbrake on channel thee. When you want to reengage the channel three you just push the button a second time and both channel two and three will be normal again. It is very nice with this program arrangement to be able to hit reverse with the throttle trigger to save a roll and have instantaneous 4wd in reverse. I find this the easiest to drive. P.S. Blended throttle is also an option but difficult to master with out self centering sticks or dials (like on a DX6 or M8 respectively). Chad- |
