Default Hondos ICE Berg build!

Well after following Mike and Monster around at the GTG at the slab I was hooked.
Jimmy and I bought a couple of kits and this is my berg!!!

DSM DX3
Berg axles
Modified Berg chassis
mambamax esc with ccbec
maxamps 11.1v lipo 2200mha
5t HolmesHobbie puller motors
JR ds8711
hitec 225 for front and rear digs
panther tires
I am waiting for my new set of OMC Berg Mayhem beadlocks!

the new ride

a little front axle tube grinding

I drilled out the axle case not the axle tube but both work great

I counter sank the holes on the inside of the case to clear the gears inside!

a little chassis mokup I cut the ends of a AX-10 chassis to stretch the berg chassis for the shocks.

I flipped the rear knuckles around and used traxxas ball ends to lock the rear out. Thanks Monster!
When I clocked the rear axle the knuckles point up and out of the way of rocks. works awesome.

the front steering mokup with some slicksleeves. Waiting on my Mayhem beadlocks!!!!!

Break time

The gear for the front and rear digs.

A mokup of the servo mount

finished the servo mount small and will fit really nice in the rear of the chassis

The servo mounted in the chassis lots of room.

add some #12 wire and went to town. Thanks Mike for your build up on your berg. Made wiring this thing a snap!

I added some bent lower links and slicksleeves and I need to shorten some wires but this is the chassis.

My losi body and some meats waiting on wheels and paint!

well here she is. This is a sweet running truck, super quiet, digs work flawlessly Just need practice now!

Very nice, curious why you drilled the case not the axles, guess its all the same. Also is that set-up for front and rear dig or dig with free wheeling?

I guess so you can't see an extra set of holes, drilling out the case makes it easier to hide!
The dig set up is for front and rear digs, this setup works great!!

Looks great.

I learned a long time ago to not hold onto thing in the drill press. Have a couple scars on my hand from that life lesson

It does not lock up like an r2d but it does not freewheel.
I found that the esc drag break seems to do the breaking when in front or rear digs and it holds it just fine. I turned it up a notch. Its nice in what ever situation you get yourself into the digs is super smooth and quiet. NO more binding.

Default Just an update!!!

Well I toss in two 5t holmeshobbies puller motors<---------------sick!
2200 maxamps lipos
and some new paint
I bought some solid blue rings with HONDO engraved on them from Mayhem Eng not here yet!

Well here are some pic's of the 5t pullers installed,
I noticed a little less stall with 13t in front and the 3c 2200 lipos rock.
The motors just clear by moving my lower links and shocks to the outside.
she ran super nice with really stupid wheel speed.
check out the slash

The pullers fit!!!!! YAYAAA :applause:

She just clears

She looks like she hits but even at full flex no rubbing.

Looks sweet!

WHAT!!!!!!! if you could only here the background music.

great pics. Whats with the 5t motors? Are they brushless with insane wheelspeed like the 7t's only better?

Cool build, but why is that losi body on every other berg I see?

Hondo your rig is looking bad ass those pullers should provide enough wheel speed to take it off some good jumps. Right down to your devil's tail paint no detail was left undone. Good luck with it.

wow... a berg with a set of pullers. I like it.... I really like it. nice build up too. Have you tried exp with some different foams in those Panthers? Ive had better luck swaping them out. But then again it looks like its going good for your set up.

yes, they are brushed
They are just like the 7t's with a little bit more wheel speed.
I have both 7 and 5's and really like the 5's better.
Sorry about the losi body I have not seen anything else I really like, I love
the bug body but it does not seem right on the burg.
