Nice work Mac, but Boosts is better looking"thumbsup"

Mac10 11-01-2009 10:43 AM

Your just running the wrong ones;)

Are these still in the Proto stage or are these going to be the finished product???

Mac10 11-01-2009 02:00 PM

looks like there will be some changes to the upper link mounting area so far,
but after me and boost get some drive time in we will know alot more!"thumbsup"

Mac10 11-01-2009 08:32 PM

well I have it as a roller now and it feels pretty good so far!

I am running a 60/40 setup as usual with all my rigs.

my link lengths are as follows
rear uppers are 102mm long eye to eye
rear lowers are 114mm long eye to eye

front uppers are 92mm long eye to eye
front lowers are 108mm long eye to eye

I spaced the lower links inward at the axle with a 3mm spacer on the front and rear to allow the rod ends more room to move freely.

my upper links are spaced 10mm out from the upper link mounts to keep my axle steer down to a minimum.

my shock setup is basically the same as before with the original NiNo chassis,
I have the shocks spaced out from the chassis 10mm each which gives the shocks some angle to keep the rig pretty stable.

I am running 90wt oil in the rear with an internal limiter and the fronts have 25wt oil with a cut down internal spring, which allows the front to droop out a little before it pulls the chassis back down, which I have found to be the most beneficial on extreme vertical climbs!"thumbsup"
also I am running losi red springs all around which I have found to keep the rig stable in all situations but still lets the suspension flex the way I want it too!

pics to follow!

Chassis looks good!!! I might have to switch out my SWX for that one. Or I could just make another berg:shock:

and the mandatory flex shot!

I should have it done by tonight as long as yard work doesn't get in the way!

Mac10 11-04-2009 10:10 PM

I finally finished it tonight.
it feels really good.

I am sitting at 2 1/4" GC which is about 1/4" higher than before and I now have some up travel in my shocks, which I didn't have before.
I just reused my old electronics plate and trimmed it to fit.

I will snap some pics tomorrow night and post up.

thanks for looking!"thumbsup"

well we made it out this weekend for some testing of the chassis!

they work very well. just like we expected.
we ran them side by side with 2 rigs with the original El NiNo chassis!

the new one definately has it's benefits over the original chassis.
we feel really good about how well they performed and look forward to seeing some more builds with the El NiNo 2 chassis soon!

Looks killer, I think thats the best looking body you have ever run. That crowd pleazer is bad arse

Mac10 11-15-2009 05:56 PM

I just got home from my first comp this weekend!

all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

this rig flat out performs man!

the rig was extremely predictable and just hooked up!"thumbsup"

I had the best score on the 3 of 5 courses that were passable!
can't go wrong with a -8, -8, -6!
the other 2 courses were basically sand climbs and dug out by the time I had finished judging and was able to run them, but i still killed them up to the ends where the unpassable parts were.

I placed second behind naz-t who was one of the 3 people to make it through 1 of the unpassable courses!
had it been doable I would have had 1st place by a fair margin, which is incredible considering the level of competition in 801rcc!!!

I couldn't be happier with the way this chassis performs, plus it just looks sick as hell!!!"thumbsup"

robert97dodge 11-17-2009 11:35 PM

Hey where did you get the servo guard?

Mac10 11-18-2009 02:14 PM

You can get them from Chaotic Crawlers.
They are hand made out of either 1/16" or 1/8" aluminum
