Default My Hero 4.0b

A mock-up of my Downtown Delrin Works Hero 4.0. I re-cut the chassis & skid for grins and because I had some white Delrin just sitting there. Can't wait to run this one. I've got some Super 300s & RC Axle Master straight rears for it. I'll use two FXRs and a CC BEC. Steering will be my own OTA set-up with a JR 8711.

Updates as progress is made

I'll run some Vanquish Pro-Comps in the front & some VP SLW .7" or .5" wide at the rear. That's my current combo of choice. I've got a couple of other wheel sets to try as well. Right now I'm loving the Panther Leopards and Nova's Ark 2 stage non-memory foam. I have also been running some Cougars on the rear with the VP .5" wide SLW wheels. It's a funny looking combo but on the super narrow wheels the Cougar is almost as tall as the Leopards (that are on the front) and it climbs like a freak! I'm running NWT all-weather non-memory foams in the Cougars right now but will try some trimmed NA 2 stage as soon as I get off my a$$ and order a couple more sets

Thanks all I guess it's obvious I love to build
Yep, it's a little wide with these hub adapters at about 10 7/8". I can probably bring the front in 1/8-1/4" without giving up some steering, a selection of hub adapters are on order. I've got 1/2" wheels on the back and .7" on the front and that seems to move the tires out a bit. Nova's dual stage foam F&R with the front inner foam narrowed 3/8" and the rear 1/2" but tapered to about 3/4" right at the wheel. I like the round profile the .7" SLWs give to the Leopards but I'll be switching to weighted Pro-Comps at 1.2" wide more than likely.

I'll work up a parts list later today, but it's all the usual stuff...

Next I've got to get to work on my chicken-wire & fiberglass indoor practice "rock" 'cause I'm a puss when it gets cold....

Skids... check here http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171155

some of the parts made for this build...
the upper link mount and a pic of the evolution of the design
the funky front links
a bearing mod for the RC Axle Masters rear axles allowing the use of the standard 10x15 bearing instead of the loose fitting bushing that comes with the kit. I'm sure the bushing works fine... it's just a case of OCD on my part
