Default Berg steering thread?

Needing to redo the steering on my Berg, just wondering what everyone has done with theirs? Please post pics showing servo mounting, tie rod and knuckle setup.

Thanks!

I was hoping to get alot of diffrent Ideas all in one thread instead of spending hours looking through single build threads. Search "steering" in the berg section and you get 185 steering related threads, some are about steering, some only mention steering. If I spend 5 minutes in each thread I would be looking at over 15 hours of brousing. You may have that kind of time, but I don't. I did search this topic, several times, found out that this is a very broad topic, that's why I was hoping to get it all combined in one thread, if we get enough info in one thread then it could be easily linked or searched or even made a sticky.

I am sorry for asking the question, maybe later tonight I will have a couple hours to search some more..... right now I'm going to the garage to work on my rig

There is not really and BEST STEERING threads out there, but some searching on "BERG STEERING" should yield some good results. I just checked and about every good thread is listed in the first 2 pages.

the 86jeep BTA setup is the most popular right now, it basically sandwiches the servo between the motor and the axle tube so the servo sits very low in the truck. A bit of grinding is needed on the axle tube and where the motor mounts to get everything to sit right but its not too bad,

Another one is the RCInnovations steering kit, Its very easy to set up and works very well.

CDW makes a nice kit,
CKRC makes a nice kit,

Just look at people's build threads and see what they are doing, A little research can go a long way to help you decide.

Clover Custom Design does a version of the 86jeep steering mod. Contact 66bronco (Bryan) if you are interested.

RCInnovations steering kit worked well for me when I ran it.

Mayhems have no clearance issues with any steering setup.

Not true! A buddy of mine was running the ckrc set-up and then went Mayhems. We had to grind the ckrc knuckles so the wheel would clear.

Didn't know CKRC knuckles didn't clear. A buddy runs them with his mayhems and doesn't have any clearance issues. He must hav modded them to work then.

You can clearance the knuckles or countersink the beadlock screws with mayhems and ckrc knuckles.

Why isn't it worth it?? Its a simple modification that allows you to use the parts as they were intended. The VP knuckles are a bolt on application, where the CKRC's need a little modifying.

CKRC knuckles are now the only knuckle design that I know of that has clearance issues on Mayhems. I wonder if they have clearance issues on any other wheels?
