well got the CrazyOrigin Motor guard/battery mount today. DickyT got one also for his XR-10. Nice piece of work Chris Still deciding on how i want the battery tray, but this will work for now For a pic of the mount out of the vehicle, go to DickyT's XR-10 build.

You really had to trim the endbell guard down for clearance

You made it a lot further than me tonight. My motor is still out of the rig...

Did you heat and bend the lexan? I did that and tapered it some so that it butts up smooth across the guard.

Yours looks good, i like it.
Didnt have to heat the lexan, since i used the opposite side of the mount. I did taper the edge a bit, to get it flatter on the mounting surface. As usual i got into it, and forgot the pics along the way.
I never even removed my motor, just unbolted shock/link. Unsoldered wires and slid it over the motor. Then bolted the tray on. As far as the endbell, i think i trimmed too much. I need it that low right by the lower link, but it could have stayed taller around most of the motor. Good thing Chris sent two endbell guards

Im just curious about how putting the battery on the axle instead of the skid is going to effect the handling of the truck? Do i need to go to a softer spring? Change oil weight? Any words of advice would be appreciated, thanks guys

You may need to play around with springs and oils. I am expecting to have the need. You might be able to remove some weight from the wheels as well. Won;t know until you get it on the rocks and try it I'm trying to get out to miramar for at least a couple packs tomorrow.

Gotta clear it with the wife first. Tomorrow is the "us" day this week. Though she wants to go shopping, I'm going to see if I can pawn that duty off on one of her girl friends It would be about noon or 1 that I get out there.

These are going to very a limited production run and not cheap from what CO tells me. There will be a few lucky souls out there to get their grubby mitts on one. Glad the sun shone on a dogs ass for me on this one.

Weight is .8 oz for the aluminum, 1 oz with the battery tray installed.

If you look in my build thread Mini there are a couple out of the rig photos. I'll post more up tonight when I get the motors soldered again.
