Question Berg 2.2 vs tracer ?

Hello

I have been away from RC for over 2 years, the bug bitten again and now I am looking for a new crawler kit

I was set on building a berg 2.2 kit, but no I see they have a new one "tracer" ?

A few questions, is it the same size as the old 2.2 ? and is it better ? is it just an evolution ?

Basically, if you where doing it from scratch now, would you go for the tracer ?

thanks

Buy some V1 axles, CCD tubes and steering, Super300,RC Axlemasters, VP knuckles, C-hubs and knuckle weights and a T1E SS chassis. With all that you'll be on your way to an awesome crawler

Don't buy a kit! Like Eric said get some V1 axles and a good chassis. After that you will want to get some 300's, axlemasters, hd 3rd gears of your choosing. You will save your self alot of $ and trouble if you don't buy a kit.

here in italy most people use the berg tracer, and also the berg tracer nano(bodiless with carbon fiber chassis and 380 motor)
the front il solild with the chassis(only the rear will twist).
for me is a beatiful crawler ;)
this is the nano

and this the normal tracer

The Tracer is a very good starter kit. If you have no experience to build a competitive crawler and don't like plastic - choose the Tracer.
The stock Nano Tracer needs 380 - 480 Motors with around 4000 kv, because it has a 1:127gear ratio. With enRoute aftermarket parts you can modify to 1:80 - so you can use the 454 pullers.
