Thanks guys. I did add some weight to front end on Friday afternoon but it messed with the feel of the truck and I was too lazy to put new shock springs on. So, I just removed the new weight I was testing.
I only run one-two 450mah packs on this rig now before a comp. Before this past Friday, I hadn't drove it in a month. It just works.

Yeah, we decided if we do it again, the gates will be a little tougher, less time and not make it a normal course but a "bonus" course. It was fun trying to see how many gates I could get through in 4 minutes.

Course 3 in 2.2 Pro was an 8 gate, who can get the most laps/gates. 4 minute time limit. Couldnt touch your truck or a gate, if you did, you were finished. Reverses didnt count.
One progress was -1 point. So I progressed 51 gates in 4 minutes.
embedding is giving some issues.

Arcc comp #5 gulpha gorge

I ordered the Ultra Softs (Golds) and the Softs (Blues).

They will be mounted up on both sets of my DLux beadlocks. Should have them mounted up tomorrow afternoon for some testing. They will both be ran on my 2.2s and 2.2 Pro at ECC.

The Golds feel like old school cougar compound. With 5.25" Closed Cells and Soft outers around I am getting some tire wading. Ive got some ideas.
Tire still performs good on the sidehills though.

They look way tall for 5.25" foams.

Swapped out the 5.25" DD's with some Single Stage 5.75" foams. Gold compound is all I tuned with tonight.
I do like this combo better! I ran the soft single stages up front and the medium single stages out back for a battery back. My rig is 4lbs 2 oz the front end folded over too much on sidehills but grabbed ledges like no other. So I put some medium single stages up front and got my sidehilling back with just enough forward bit to still work. I have ran the closed cell inner foams since I got one of the first prototype sets from Eddie in 2010. I did not notice any ill effects of the oversized single stage foams just yet.

ignore the camera angle in the last picture.

Couple notes from 5 battery packs of testing.

1. The VooDoo's are a taller tire. So you will have to adjust your driving style and shock external and internal limiters. At least I did.
2. The Gold compound is really nice and soft but still holds its shape. Too short and soft of a foam will cause tire wading which effects contact patch.
3. Get your foam tuning hat on. These tires are going to work with several foam setups you'll just have to find the one that suits you and your rig.
4. These tires are lighter so you may need to move some weight around on your truck.
5. Thanks to Ottsix for the new tire.

Yep. Fronts are just under 5.5" RTR. A touch taller out back.

How come you went from a 5.25 straight to a single stage? I guess what I am really wondering is, why didnt you naturally want to step up to a 5.5 inner and then from there if it was too soft, step up to a 5.5/medium outer?

Seems logical, right?

Just crossed my mind that I was getting too much tire wrap and I figured I needed to fill the tire more. The 5.75" single stages caught my eye on my foam shelf.
The 5.5's may work but I am thinking this bigger single stage may be the setup to keep that wrap down. I'll try the 5.5's in the future. I still have the Blue VooDoo's to mess with too. They are the firmest of the VooDoo line.

Really looking forward to your expert pin tuning advice

I messed around with my cut pins tonight on some chunky granite...much MUCH better than uncut pins.

My rig is around 3.5lbs and I haven't really had any bunching as long as I use tuning rings. Even without tuning, not too bad...but I've mostly been on smoooooth granite and sandstone. I did catch a few edges where I thought I ripped the front end off my rig.

Three basic things that made big improvements for me were:
- a good break in
- going back to 1" wheels (better side hilling)
- pin pattern
...and two weeks later, I'm STILL playing around with foams

The one thing I have noticed about this rubber is that it's slightly more temperature dependent then "S" type compounds. The factory is working on that category of compound for us...

This is the big thing. My testing was on my sporty. So of course I don't get the dramatic tire wrap because I don't have dig. I think the foam will really be personal preference with these tires. The gold compound is such a great compound that you can truly tune the foams. You don't have to get suuper soft foams to compensate for a firmer compound. Being a pin tire, the foam set ups will be different than a large lug tire. So far, it seems like open cell foams are best for these tires

Uncut they are hooking up for me right now. A little slow wheel speed and I get my tough climbs on my rock pile but pins will probably come off sometime.

The closed cell inner makes the tire bite harder and if it's a soft outer foam get ready for some drag slick tire wrapping. It's ok on verticals but if you are in dig with the front wheels spinning, the wadding makes the tire hop, hence loosing traction. But foam tuning can fix that. I just wanted to try the softest foam setup with the softest compound to start with.
