Have you tried messing with the direction of the tires yet?

In haste, I forgot about them having an "A" and "B" direction. I was more concerned with the couple hours of testing I had in front of me.

A direction has 3 little "pins" (on one pin) grabbing first.

B direction is 2 bigger "pins" grabbing rock first.

I got "A" and "B" directions going which way.

Iphone 5 camera.

Got some good testing in at ECC today. Same foam setups as above
But mixing up compounds front and rear. Really pleased with these tires so far.

Default Szczerba's 2012.2 Secret Agent'd 3.5 Bodiless Berg

Back from ECC with a sub par performance. I give credit to all the great drivers. I had a great time with everyone.

truck was working great but a few mistakes on my part.

Thanks to:

Judges. Couldn't do it without y'all.
Fishmaxx and staff for putting ECC on and All the sponsors involved with ECC.

Holmes Hobbies for the power supplies.
Crawler Innovations for the tire foams.
Ottsix for getting me the new Voodoos to do some untested comp "testing".

Ran the setup below on my 2.2s rig as well.

Fronts:
Blue Compound (Firmest)
5.25" Crawler Innovations Double Deuce Foams with Medium Outers.
Rears:
Gold Compound (Softest)
5.5" Crawler Innovations Double Deuce Foams with Firm Outers.
Felt no reason to cut any pins out just yet either. Hooking up fine now.

I liked the softer compound tires out back. To me they didnt offer as much traction and on grippy rock too much traction out back can be dicey. The Gold compound pins seem to fold a little easier than the blues. Hence my decision to run them out back stuffed with firm outers.
The blues up front pulled harder and sidehilled better. And almost zero bounce. Rig was 4lbs 3oz.

The tires were working as good as any other tire at the chomp and come with the height advantage. Just need to get used to working with a little taller tire

Next up is to make a clone setup of what is listed above and start cutting some pins m

Lookin good.

I am curious to hear how you like the 5.5's in the voodoos compared to the 6.0's everyone is raving about.

I'm at 4lbs 2oz and like the blues up front with 5.5 CI DD's and medium outers and golds out back with 5.5 CI DD and firm outers.
I normally dont run that firm of a foam setup but these tires are liking it. I guess you could run 5.5's and firmer and it would be close to the 6.0's with a softer outer. Multiple setup can be had with these various tire compounds.
I have 6.0" inners sitting on the foam self but have yet to put them in. Going to run this setup a little more. Should get some good videos tomorrow.

If you take a silver marker and outline the logo and let it dry for about a half hr then wipe it down with simple green it gives a cool ghosting effect around the lettering. You can use any color metallic marker. I'll get some pixs later today.

and then?

Well, I lost a battle last weekend at our last ARCC 2013 Points Series Comp but won the war.

Should have some video up but it wasn't too hawt. I did make a gate that no one else made on course 3. Highlight of my day.

Still need to do some foam tuning with the VooDoo's.

Yep. 5.5's with med outers up front and firm outers out back.
Blue compound up front and gold compound out back. Worked awesome at ECC.
The Petit Jean comp last Saturday was ultra jagged rocks, big holes and lots of verticals. I think I was too firm up front. Front tires wouldnt conform to the rocks enough.

I ran Golds up front and Blues out back on my sportsman and it worked well.

So, IMO these tires are going to be rock specific foam tuning for me. I'll need to keep a log.

i am glad to see your tire tuning response on the sporty... i have also been running golds up front and blues in the rear with soft outers on all 4 corners w/ CI side wall tuning disc for better side hilling ...also congrats on the win brother

Thanks guys.

We have been setting up tougher courses over the last few months at ARCC. This comp was no different.
Petit Jean is a beautiful place for a comp. We were on the lookout but there is 2-3 more spots in the park too.
This rock is jagged, chunky, holey with lots of verticals and sidehills, It has it all.

I didn't change my foam or tire setup from ECC.
Blues up front with Med outers and Closed Cell inners
Golds out back with Firm outers and Closed Cell inners
Should have put some softs up front with a tuning ring. Or put the golds up front with Medium outers.

A little more knuckle weight could have probably helped too.

Thanks to RolandRockShop for the Videos and editting.

Course 1

Course 2

Course 3. I was the only one to make gate 5 Highlight of my day.
