| Re: Alex's berg take I Bummer. I think the thin CF will hold up. Jacob has actually gone back to using the 1/16" shock bars on his Minimal and has been trboule free since we eliminated the extra holes. I think, if you remove the hole (where it broke) you might be ok. The combo nation of the windshield post coming down to that hole is probably what casued it to fail. That hole does't look like a viable shock mount option IMO so I think removing it would help significantly without having to add more material.

Yes I run the 1/16 shock arms and have no problems with them. it looks like the last 3 hole on that shock arm really do not need to be there I think if you removed them you would not have any problems. Chassis looks cool I like the idea for sure. |

Thanks for the inputs guys, I figured that hole wasn't a viable option and removed it, I might aswell remove the next one also. When I first designed the chassis I was planning to run it 35/65 but I changed my mind and end up at 40/60 to avoid funky handling and geo. Also I've added one more shock hole in front and moved the cab and the windshield intersection slighlty forward. Quote:
Thanks actually I thought about it but I'll go that way only if the current version fail because I'll have to get new lower chassis cutted and they will eat more space per cf sheet. My main cons is aesthetic unless you are talking about addind the shock mount on the lower parts while keeping the ones one the cab, kinda like the rear end? Quote:
Thanks buddy , what size of tubing are you gonna use? I've found some 8mm 5.5mm ID, I think they might work. Edit: I should have take measurements on the threaded inserts first, I was too lazy. They re 5.3mm. I can only find some 5mm or 5.5mm id tubes. Last edited by AlexG; 12-14-2012 at 06:22 AM.

I have 7mm tube and the id is 5mm. I'm thinking the inserts will need a little massaging and will be good to go. |

I've been busy lately and I'm still waiting for my upper chassis. I had and issues with my front tube but it's all good now, I just need to rework the steering. I'm thinking about getting a blue star later this coming year and sell some CF wheels. Here are a some I made. These two sets have been cutted by Tomy These are the first sets cnc'd in house I have more fancy design but I'm out of CF and but I'll test these first. For the first time in my life I have more wheels than tires Some Dlux sweetness. Not the final weight, that's with a lot of knuckle weight, 3.90lbs . I made these upper link mount to have a better geo with my chassis, front uppers and lowers are the same length, thanks DickyT |

Thanks guys My front fx-r died so I had to borrow one from my sporty but then my rear esc stop working. Time for me to try castle esc's I had a chance to play with the cnc again and made a few parts. Some CF spring cup ala Sven just for bling, sorry for the crappy ipad pics. To solve the issue I had with my steering I made some slightly longer arm. Everything cylce smooth but to unlock full potential I'll have to buy a servo programmer. I had a chance to play with a lathe aswell and lathed my hubs.

Got my upper chassis, thanks Tomi I think I'll order a pair of mamba micro pro for my truck. Here are some better pictures. My next project on the list is to make some tungsten KW holder kinda like Krawl's super agent |

Wow that is an amazing looking crawler What's the point of the steering arm how it kind of wraps around the knuckle? Makes it stronger?

The arm wrap around the knuckle more for bling than strength. I made these arm 8mm longer than the vp for a better steering geo. Not perfect yet but close enough for now.

BTW do you ever have any issues with the Tierod catching up on rocks with it being on the front? And I noticed you are sponsored by Futaba... Why are you running a 7950 and not like a BLS172 or BLS157?

Never ran the berg on the rock so I can't tell honestly. FYI I'm not sponsered by any of the vendor I support in my sig, everything is coming from my wallet. I've been thinking about getting a bls172, but I can't afford it right now

OK... Ahh I was going to say you've got a pretty nice sig if that's all your sponsors. Ya to bad it's soo expensive...

Those spring cups are awesome man. The transition of the front to rear links is just nasty. Great work on this one bro |
