What have I got myself into? I have always wanted a set of these axles, but never really pursued a set.(until now) I have been debating building a berg for a few months now and when I saw an opportunity to finally own a set of Ti-Fighters, I quickly took my dreams to reality. I weighed all the pros and cons to building these axles versus doing a complete Dlux based berg axles. Ultimately the opportunity to own and build a rig with these rare axles won. With this build, I will finally commit to a true lightweight rig. I have driven my xr10 since they were first released. Over the last year I have started cutting weight in all the critical places without chasing a specific weight for bragging rights. With this build I will attempt to get into the true flyweight category that a lot of others have been doing.(I figure if I don't like it, I can just knuckle weight up) The build is still in planning phases as I have 2 other builds going on that require chassis designing and testing going on as well. Specs: SDS customz alumi-Fighter axles Super 300 cvd's SDS 300 3rd gears Milled stock berg gears (for now) VP 8* knuckles Custom rear axle shafts Dlux carbon wheels Shaved rovers Chaotic Crawlers Switch Zero chassis 3/16" Ti lower links Upper links will most likely be 1/8" Ti or 7075 aluminum Futaba bls157 servo Esc's are undecided Motors are undecided I got the axles yesterday and quickly started playing around with them while I wait for more parts to arrive. Here is the bling bling so far. Once the rest of my gears arrive, I will schedule a "man date" with Dlux to start milling gears and beefing up the weak links in the gear train. |

Is this going to be your main comp rig? If so, I am glad to have another "Berg" in the club!

Lookin forward to watching this one. Those axles are really cool, I followed the saga on those axles, at one point I didn't even think they were going to happen. Nice to see builds popping up here and there with them.

I plan on this replacing my xr10. At some point I will have to decide which one i like better and sell one of them though. I am really hoping this rig outperforms my xr10. | |

After some conversations with a couple people I wen ahead and ordered up some brand new Holmes Hobbies team Pro Flow 540 35t skewed arm Stage 4 I've always had good luck with my Holmes motors of the past and I look forward to seeing how bad ass these really are. John has always been great to deal with and also sponsors 2 of our drivers. I've always been a believer in supporting the people that support you. All my gears have arrived and now I just need to get over to Erik's to mill the gears and upgrade the pins. |

| Re: ••Chaotic Alumi-Fighter Zero•• I sure am glad you still have a sense of humor I wish it was that close, but I've still got quite a bit of machine work, money to spend, and other things to do before this hits the rocks. I am going to miss you for the 7th month in a row. You don't mind if the tuna club swings by your house early in the morning again and yells out the car window until you come out to say hi do you? |
