Norwegian Berg, Hall style

After a couple of years with my XR10 it was time to do some thing new.
I decided some time a go that I was going with Berg axels, but couldent
decide witch chassis to choose.
But for x-mas my wife gave me a Hall style chassis with ti lins and sliders, so thats what im going to build "thumbsup"
Progress so far has not been great, but I,m getting there slowly.
The axels got new tubes and a needed make over.

Made a elektro package, 2 x esc + bec.

This is getting heavy fast, I'm afraid this may be heavier than 2 kg which was the target.

Looks good :) I like all of the orange "thumbsup" The front upper links look a little bit long... I'm guessing you did that to get some more motor clearence?

Looks that way. I made a lipo plate like that, even with straight front links it was a bit of a hang up point. Well, more like a rock anchor. Lets just say it took a beating.

Good looking build. I love the orange, and the way the color scheme flows through the entire rig. "thumbsup"

Castor looks good. You probably could get away with a little more if you like how it handles with what you have.

First in door test yesterday, but unfortunatly it did not go as smooth as I would have wished. It lived its own life, the esc,s are setup to the radio and the esc,s are setup with the Castlelink. I run 2 x CC micro, bec and a Hitec servo. I run a PL4 and i had the antenna cable tucked inside the receiver to get it out of the way, tryed to take it back out and I think this may have been the problem but I am not sure.
Any one else experienced the same problem ?

Once bound to the 4PL, you actually should not need the antenna's. Learned that from a Pro level driver. And I coil all mine and never had an issue. I'm running the 4PK, but I would not think the 4PL would be much different.

It may seem strange, but it seems like it was the tucked in antennawire that made some kind of truble for me.

I did when I had a 4pl. I coiled my wire up in the rx box and it went crazy. I took the wire off the rx completely and it worked fine and never went crazy after.

Re: Norwegian Berg, Hall style

Disappointed !!!
After running the Hall for 6-8 batteries the chassis are cracking everywear, whitout any massive falls or hard running.

Not the first one to have this expirience I can see :-(

Got a local guy to make me some new plates in something called CAW PVC, this feels alot tougher and I can bend it quite much.

Allso got a massive weight reduction :-)

Lexan in the sun, dealing with temperature changes, and the abuse these crawlers take just isn't going to hold up anything like some Carbon Fiber or Delrin. It looks "neat" and allows you to paint it like you did, but is inherently prone to failure of this type.

locktite and lexan dont mix well either

Re: Norwegian Berg, Hall style

The cracking has not happened for us that have been running them for a while now. Every once and a while someone will brake a side plate but I haven't seen that kind of cracking. I think the brand of lexan really makes a difference.

A little update "thumbsup"
I have modified the chassis to a total height of 3 ".
Allso I got the motors and gearboxes serviced, painted some parts
