Default Stick's 2013 Chump RT2 build

Well it's 2013 and that means its time for another build. Here's a short post on what I'm working with. I've had this set of loaded axles laying around for some time now and figured now is the time to put them to good use. The day my Chump came in, I instantly went to work on the build. Here are a few pics of how it currently sits. Take a look and let me know what you all think. -Stick

I think that some body off pics are in order.

Looks good - I like the red tubes.

Man why did you not anodize that Servo case?

Looks great Stick, hope to see it at the big comps this spring/summer, though any chance I'll get to beat you?

The z9100hvt Jr servo comes that way . It's a great looking servo but from the 2 I have they didn't live all that well.

All I run on my comp rigs are 8711hv's at 8.5 to 9 volts. The one on my 2012 comp rig has been going strong for over a year and a half now. All I've ever had to replace is the one fiber gear inside two times. All other servos I've tried just don't seem to last.

I have a 91000hvt collecting dust caause i keep busting gearsets at 7.4v. such a powerful and fast servo, but the crappiet gears ever. On top of that, the gears cost nearly as much as a 7954sh, so i just buy those instead.

And, did you have a DD going on? gave up o that?

I'm not sure if the internals are the same as the 8711 or not but I've trashed all other servos I've tried. Some don't last a day. I trashed one of those big hitecs in a day. That was a hurt piece. I went back to the 8711hv and have had zero issues since. I always make sure my end points are correct and so on. I don't know, I can't explain it. I just know that's the servo for me.

Yes I have a DD. it was a DD berg until last Sunday. I tore it down to do an xr DD build. I hopefully will have the xr axles in my possession this sat so I can get it back together. It was a fun rig to drive!

Clover tubes, Mann gears, old style 300's , Some Holmes 16t Pro motors. Axial shocks w/ jeepin doug cups n mini t springs,Vp 8* knuckles,C's and knuckle weights. 2 micro sidewinders, Bec, Jr 8711hv ,Chump RT2 CF chassis & links, SLW's , closed cell foams, softs up front, medium in rear with shaved down rovers. Gunner body mounts, xciter parma body with Krawler Konceptz internal graphic skins. i control it by a futaba 4pks. I'm sure I forgot a few things but its a start.

That's all that I can get to hold up. Good for discussion though. So what servos do U all have luck with?

HiTec 7950. Tanis and 666 told me to get it cause it withstands their abuse and I did (Losi).

Looks good, Mike.

I've got one of the first 7950's that came out, I have beat the everliving shit out of it on my Berg, Losi's, and Class 3 rig, and occasional Super usage. Even had it under water, mud, blah, many times. I remember one day I was jumping my Berg off a 8' cliff repeatedly. Finally the servo quit working, took it apart and one of the pins that hold the gears snapped. Took one out of an old 645 that was smoked, been working fine since! The top bearing does feel a little sloppy these days. But still making me hit gates! I usually run it at 7 volts.

I do remember being with you and watching Hitec go up in smoke on flat ground before.....
