| Berg Tracer V3 .... problems with servo :( :( !!
Hi, i have a Berg Tracer V3. I use two fxr pro, two tekin 55hd, a cc bec and 3s lipo. First i used a Savox 1283sg, 30kg of torque, damn, not bad. But over a carpet, i can't steering good. Now, after an advices, i installed a Protek 150, also 30kg of torque but at 7.4, an high voltage servo. I change the cc bec voltage to 7.4, i check it with a tester and work. Happy to try the new servo .. and damn, ... i can't steering over a carpet !! Only over a flat surface ... is really fast but ... useless !! Every front tires weight + - 350gr, the axles are the bergs v3 and the chassis the tracer v3. In the tires i have a cutted foam (star). Damn, i know that are not so light this tires, and the foam cutted is not easy to steer, but is possible that 30kg aren't enought to steering good?? Someone can help me?? Maybe can be a electronic problem? I use a condensator in every fxrpro ..... :( I hope that someone can help me, are two weeks that i'm waiting and now with this servo i can't do anything :( |

Carpet is a difficult surface and not a good real world test. Go do some crawling and form an opinion that way.

But ... yesterday i tryed to descend my house scale .... the tires are all in the right directions, i can't do anything ... also turn in the middle was impossible and this servo come really hot .... Here the surface is perfect, but the servo don't have the strength to "move" the crawler ... (sorry for my english ...) Is possible?? I don't think ... ok for the carpet, .. but here is in a crawling situation :( |

Well that is rather odd then. I'd check for possible binding throughout your steering. Since your servo got hot, I tend to believe something is binding.

This is strange because the steering linkage are original, i don't have changed anything from the original version. Late i post some pic :( |

How long is your servo arm? It looks a bit longer than the "standard" robotronics arm I use. (I do run a Savox 1230 though)

Yeah this is what i modified after doing the photo. Now i use a shorter arm and i use the hole nearest the center hole of the servo arm. Seems to be better, i need to try it in the rock. Wow, 500 oz/in of torque, i didn't know your servo, damn !! Mine have 426 with 0.08 (super fast but work at 7.4v) ... maybe your servo can be better in mine crawler, what you think, is possible ?? Instead there is the hitec with an huge torque, 611 oz/in, is the HS-M7990TH , but cost 200 dollars ... but sure with this i can do everything i want, i think ... |
