newb questions

Is there a FAQ thread for Bergs? My buddy and I each bought a set of axles to build from. Wondering what pinion gear to use. What pitch and tooth count?

.6 mod, tooth count depends on motor

Thanks. I haven't looked at them yet but my buddy says the V3 axles he got don't have a slot to adjust the motor position so we kinda need to know what will fit before we order the pinions. He's going to be running Axial 55T motors on his. I haven't decided, yet but I have V1 axles so it's not as much of an issue for me.

Since I'm asking newb questions already... What's the fastest brushed motor the V1s can handle with say a 12 tooth pinion? Kinda wanting it to be a rock racer more than a true crawler.

Don't know anything about the v3s so I can't help there. But for motor for your v1s, whatever your esc can handle I'd imagine. I'd probably do a 27t with a 14t pinion.

The V3 axles is made for running an 11T pinion. Earlier today I noticed that amain has most of the spare parts for the V3 axles in stock, including the pinions.

A piece of advice on the V3 axles, replace the screws asap. The original screws are pure crap...

Thanks guys. This is all still new to me but, I'm learning and truly appreciate the info. So, you really think 27T/14T would make a good rock racer with these? I was considering HH's TM Pro Rock Racer in 25T or 21T combo. (x2, of course, I'll be running a modded GT3B with 4WS when needed, as well. Not a comp rig, just bashing with buddies).

Also, what's the final gear ratio on these axles?
