i finished my tracer 2.2 and noticed that the rear axle has a little play where the wheels bolt on, it can move side to side about 1mm to .5mm. it clunks when i steer left to right. is this normal?' here is a video berg 2.2 rear axle play - YouTube Last edited by ncampos976; 06-23-2013 at 01:41 PM. |

I had the same in my old V3. I solved it with some shims on the axle in the gear box. First I tried to use shims between the outer bearing and the e-clip, but found that it worked better to shim it inside the gear box instead. Depending on how much play you want to remove you have to pay attention so the gears still mesh properly when you shim it. |

I have tried to solve slop issues to no end. There is always going to be some. Even if you get it just right, one nasty bind up and right back where you started. I wouldn't sweat it.
