Hi!

Some news about Berg TGS Evo, because berg front axle made me freak out.
I made high clearance universal joints, modify the axle with holes to put long screw, but nothing can resist and I lost the last two competitions because of it

The solution: AR60 axial CVD
Let's go

New tubes are needed, and modification of axle pinion to receive the new alu spool

After some measures, a lot of time in front of CAD, and after a while milling, my new spool

And as V3 has 12mm bearing balls, I need to turn 2 delrin rings in replacement

The more difficult is pinion milling. The Vanadium protection is really hard and carbure tools get out. But it's done

And delrin tubes, with aluminium Chub and hub and 8° and AR60 cvd

I need a new servo support and it's done

Hi !

The next step: the stearing servo

Support needed, support made

I used 6mm delrin, to accept the 30kg

Right, it's Ok to run now

Hop! I forgot lipo support

Some delrin and

and lipo weight gets down 25 mm , really better for gravity center
Chub are old, so new sleeves, ever with delrin are arrived

Instead of using the delrin bushings on your locker, could you not machine the outside of the locker down where the bearings sit and use a bearing with a smaller ID?

Hi !
there are many reasons:
first: I prefer to leave matter
second: I haven't got any bearing with smaller ID
third: delrin is self lubricated plastic and is good to replace bearing ( bearings were exchange against delrin rings in the rear axle: zero noise, 50% weigth earned. You only hear the engine noise=nothing )
Self lubrification is the delrin spec

And the last operation: screwing C-hubs
I thought to not screw, but Pat13 has advised me not to do that, and with his experience, I prefer to listen. Thank you Pat
Like delrin does not have much resistance to the thread, I decided to drill tube from side to side, just on rear. Like that, screw has 10 mm of delrin to screw and C-hub can't move in rotation or lateral translation
Whouuhouuuuu !

Hi! Some news, again

Today is ( a sad) day of conception and realisation of weights's supports for rear axle.
Support are made in delrin .
Weights are made with Pb
Conception and milling preparation

the result

Domed head screws will replaces current screws
I'll go to test tomorrow

Front weights's supports will be made, but I want put Chub and weight's support in 1 block, so some drawing and working are needed.

I was a bit optimistic about the strength of Delrin.
With a stroke of saw, I've recycled materials links below. It allows well clear the space under the bridge and has a better behavior.

And here are the new supports weights. There is more material and have replaced the break by a slope, which will hang less.

And with domed screws, it's better

Hi!

Now, it's slimming cure time
I have changed all alu links by titan 4mm (grade 5)
1/3 weight earned
new steering link

uppers and lowers rear links

I've changed shocks too
I replace 130mm shocks by reversed wraith shocks, mounted with small springs and alu cup and rod end replace cap fixation to limit height of chassis and twist of rear axle
Soon, the steel rear shaft will be replaced by Ti, too

Now, I'm wondering if I change my vapors for pullers (i've already them) or if I stay in this configuration. Pullers are lighters than vapors of ~30g

Hi!
Yes

With Lizard, we have developped a new rig, and I'll use it

Carbon fiber and central 3d printed renfort
central plate to rigidify
cantilever system
60g

The XR10 version, at PACA, France

Thank you, my berg, you're a good crawler
but it's time to change

Hello !!!

It' done!

My new rig is ready

I've choose the green reinforcement

a central carbone plate gives rigidity and support for Rx, easy to wire and fix

Just to unscrew one and skid opens and let an easy access

I had to convert my V3 axles for 4 links chassis
So I've milled an alu lower link and shock support

and a delrin part for the upper

I've reduced it on front, because it was really too long

Building of a marble to do links

Upper links are builded with carbon tube 4mm and the lower links with Ti grade 5 4mm

Up

Down

1074g for front, 704g for the rear, repartition weight is good.

Result is an extra rigid chassis, will be extra precise (tested with Lizard)

Hi!
Some news

Steering servo is really not at the right place but I can't move it on this axle.
The solution is a new gearbox and new tubes and like some fancy not kill

servo support in 3mm CF

It's mounted in delrin with brass inserts ;)

I've add some weight on front axle, but I need to mold news, to be in good position
I have to test and run a lot and it'll be ready
