| Ricky's Smash Build...
Well after a many a late night reading the forums about what the best and most competitive products are and then fitting some of those things into my budget Here is what I have to start with. For electronics just basic stuff 2 Micro winders with BEC and RX de-cased blah blah... I have Silver Voodoos on the way. Going with 6'' CI all around with Soft outer up front Med in back. Still need to decide on what to do for wheels. Leaning toward Delux. Input and sugestions welcome I will keep pictures coming as I get more done |

I think the wheel game is pretty competitive. I go with dlux every time based on the fact that I've never driven out of a bead and every little part can be bought separately. This is especially cool if you are weird like me and just want to change the look of your rig. All you need is faces.

it looks great! I also have a smash, have been teased that it is backward , but I find it rolls over better for me with the cab on that way....I also have silver voodoos with 6 inch ci foams. good choice. I have a set of vp rims and a set of d-lux being shipped to me now. I wanted full true bead locks ,no glue for me. another tip,,,i know some ppl don't, I do , I run my truck a lot I mean like everyday. put a cross brace at both very ends of the chassis for added strength and widen your body panels to just cover the top edge of the carbon fiber, this will save it from being scratched up and wearing out fast. |

Electronics came out ok. Still have to shorten and shrink the servo wires. More to come Last edited by Ricky G; 08-25-2013 at 11:42 PM. Reason: Trying to fix size |

Great start. Don't forget the screw in the servo horn.

Make sure you get the cross brace at the very front of the chassis. It will break without it there. I like the rear cover panel. I assume you trimmed your skid plate, so it doesn't hit the RR mount? The Rig is looking pretty good though. |

[QUOTE=Chaotic Crawlers;4454580]Make sure you get the cross brace at the very front of the chassis. It will break without it there. haha told ya so... very nice looking rig I am way to lazy to post the pics but, trust me , that carbon will get chewed up fast exposed like that. I also run a "trunk" panel. both trunk and hood are 2-3 mm wider to cover the exposed carbon fiber edge. that edge can wear down. and be the start point of a failure or fraying of the carbon fiber. just trying to help , .... again truck looks great. smashes rule ! Yeah the chassis just looked odd to me without a rear panel. Thanks Yes trimmed just a little off the skid to miss the mount Thanks [QUOTE=TheWheelman;4454864] Quote:

| Re: Ricky's Smash Build... I had alot of fun with the last rig and with my current schedule I cant race anymore so putting a crawler together and getting out in the mornings works out well Yeah not going to be very light (im guessing 4.5lbs) But this is just the start Yeah Im going to try to make them all this season. |

Don't sweat the 4.5lbs. I'm at 4.3 and its the weight I came back up to. Our parts lists are pretty close. You may love that weight with this rig. It looks great and look forward to more updates!
