Slapped gears in the cases lastnight. Rear case went together with no fitment issues.
Front case had a little clearance issue with 2nd gear (marked in red) hit it with Dremel removed just a hair of alum. Now everything spins smoothly front and rear.

Bolted down shock and link mounts today. They aren't perfect just hair off from side to side.
Drives me nuts, it isn't perfect but it will have to do.

Rigs is ready for a shakedown hopefully I won't have any gremlins hiding.
I wasn't able to use the Dlux battery mount because my lower links were in the way. So I modified the case cover and used my Rowdy racing battery mount.

The only downside to rebuilding my rig as of now...
Is the confidence in my old axles being Bulletproof.

Rig sits at 4lbs 5oz RTR included just over 5oz of KW.

I wouldn't worry about the axles. I do zero maintenance on my car and the axles haven't let me down once. And I drive my car a lot. The only things I've done are to update them because mine were one of the original proto sets. I'm still running the hand cut delrin centers! Haha

I second what Stubs said!! I've beat on mine pretty hard for a couple years and never had an issue. I just throw in fresh bearings and re grease at the start of the season and I'm good to go!
Your truck looks great!! Good luck this season!

Ya, I'm sure the Dlux super lite berg axles will hold up just fine... still will take a few practice runs to earn my trust... I've been wanting to swap to super lite berg axles for a long time..

Ok, my 3mm steering stops (circled in red). I'm using a hudy 1" servo horn with my EPA's maxed out the steering stops don't touch the axle C's.

To have steering stops actually touch C's I have to use 6mm spacers instead of 3mm spacers .
So you guys using 3mm spacers with for steering stops. What size servo horn are you using and do your steering stops actually touch the C's when you adjust your EPA's?

Just not wanting to over extend my universals or max my servo EPA's and cause servo damage.

This comment made me chuckle and think back a bit. I remember when I first started making delrin tubes and people told me they wouldnt hold up. Then after some time, I told them I was going to make super delrin tubes!!! LOL.

Everything breaks but if you have consistent problems with these, I would be shocked. If you get past the assembly stage, typically youre good to go for a good long time.

As for the steering, usually 3mm spacers are a pretty conservative stop and you could do less. To me, it looks like you have much more steering to give. I think your wider tires are holding you back some.

Keep it at 6mm for super conservative, take it to 3mm for a pretty conservative but good steering. I am guessing a lot of it has to do with you not being used to the difference in a CVD vs universal. If you give yourself some more steering, you will be shocked at the difference.

Oh, and I think it was in the video but to check to see if your unis are binding, you can turn them, turn the tire with your hand and you can feel the point at to which they start hard binding.

Yes, I definitely could get more steering a lot more.. I've ran Dlux rear Delrin tubes for yrs the tubes are still on a rig I've seen a guy building on pro shafty and MOA FB page running strong.

So what do you think if I go back to 3mm spacers for steering stops my EPA's maxed out Steering stop not touching the C's. Would this be ok?
When you guys turn your steering EPA's to the max do your steering stops touch the C's?

BTW I'm totally stoked with the Dlux Super lite berg axles

My EPA's on a 6ex are around 138 I think. Never had a problem.

Re-read Erik's post.. so to be clear my unisverls aren't binding..

What's messing with my head is the fact when I use the 3mm stops, and maxing out my EPA's.
There's still a big gap between the steering stops a axle C's.
As if I need a longer servo horn..
As of now I'm going to run it.

How long is your steering horn?
With your EPA's set to 138ish do your 3mm stops touch your C's

If it were me, I would just run the 3mm spacers, check by hand to see if the unis are binding and if not, I would run it that way. When I used to run like this, my steering EPAs were really close to maxed out on both sides but my stops would touch. More importantly, when I was driving and pushing tires, the rocks would push my steering too far and use the stops.

I am guessing but I think your just not used to how much steering youre going to have. Its a big and shocking difference going from 50* to 70*.
