Border line crawlers season 4 is over thought I'd share a pic of our trophies.
Thanks to 5th Dimension for the killer chassis...

nicely done, congratulations. Did you change your chassis? I could have sworn it used to be carbon fiber.

Yes a newer version of 5th Dimension Dominator MOA chassis.
It's cut from G10 this way it gives us a choice of color.

3-D printed Shock Slider for comp crawler

Made by

Handsome Bandit Garage

https://www.shapeways.com/product/5R...li=marketplace

Here's TSK's shock sliders I modified the sliders a little-bit.
slotted the shock mounting hole. Then drilled a 3 mm hole into back side of the meaty part of the slider to secure it firmly to the chassis plate.

A few pics.

Quick up date on my rig.
I've been wanting to pick up a set of Holmes Puller Motors for a few yrs (just didn't want to spend 250.00) I stuck with my 540 16t crawlmasters.
A few weeks ago I picked up a set of team puller motors 500's 13t xx wire (dropped about 2oz of weight).

Not wanting to scratch my 500's I cut some lean covers for them hopefully they don't get ripped off on the 1st course.

My other update was swapping most of my hardware. I've been running carbon & stainless steel screws and nuts since day one. Chosing not to listen to D-wray advising me to swap to aluminum & titanium hardware.

So I bought 2 bags of 7075 alum screws and nuts. Thought I'd share my weight loss so far With swapping almost every screw with 7075 alum I lost 35g.
I still need to buy some titanium hardware for a few spots.
To lose 35g so far cost 44$ 7075 alum
titanium hardware guess 50$ (haven't ordered yet)
Plans for titanium hardware
lower links @ axles
Upper link @ axles
3per wheel hubs
Steering screws.

Old hardware

With updates in above post and playing with knuckle weights my RTR weight is 4lbs 6.6oz with 6oz KW ea side still not a feather weight. Looking forward seeing how it does @ our next comp.

I’ve been using the protek ti hardware with good success lately. I found some other brands cut the hex too deep and the heads sheer off.

What was the deciding factor choosing 500's over 400's?

Just a fear of the 400's draining to many Amps from my batteries and causing esc's to brown out. Thinking because 400's are smaller they'd need more amps from my batteries under load or on my lid. My opinion isn't based on any facts just a fear of not knowing.

Plus 16t 400's weren't in stock when I ordered my 13t 500's.
The extra weight loss of the 400's would have been nice though.

Scott in our club runs 400's in his berg and seems happy with them... but he drives really slow as if he's scared of his rig.. JK Scott...
Actually because Scott was happy with his 400's. I'm not sure if I made the better choice.

If I was a high roller like D-wary I would have bought both 400's and 500's test both sets and keep the better set.

I'm looking forward to hearing how you like your 13t 400's.
