Default Re: 5Th Dimension DOMINATOR Chassis Swap.

Thanks to 5TH Dimension/Cboggs I received a new Dominator chassis with some sweet updates to an already killer chassis.
I was perfectly happy with the original chassis, it preformed/handled great, but I'm stoked to receive this new one!!!

When I opened the USPS box, there were things I noticed right away that where improvements from original chassis from last season.

First was the rear CF brace. With this new brace it appears to be more rigidity in the rear chassis, allowing me to remove the 2 cross braces I was running on original chassis.

Second was the rear shock stand-offs. (I was running a homebrew stand-offs before)

Third was the CF chassis plates. The new Side plates are a hair thicker than original chassis.

Here's a few more pic

For the record, Bruce at BDN produces those shock sliders. Those were an extra set I had left.

Well then thank you for sending them, and thanks to Bruce @ BDN for making them. My homeberw sliders worked fine, but these BDN sliders are 1000x better.

That's a pretty slick back brace.
Those 5D guys are coming up with some innovative ideas.

You can tell the guys @ 5D aren't only cutting chassis, they're driving/competing with them hence the new updates always room for improvement. Keep up the good work 5D.

Knew someone would take interest in some of my chassis design features sooner or later.... you gotta love the strength it adds to the chassis though hey.

Cheers

You really cant beat that design for stiffness. I remember years ago when krawlfreak did that to his featherweight secret agent chassis by using epoxy to hold it all together, your idea with the nut and bolt is just a better way to secure it.
Here's a blast from the past...

Had a chance to meet up with a couple local guys Delmonte & D-wray @ one of our local comp location for some 2015 world's practice. Quick video of some free crawling with the updated chassis. Rig seems to be ready for world's, well as ready as it will get. There's always something to modify rebuild or upgrade... See you guys on the rocks I can't wait...

Nice job on 2nd place there, Mr. Out.
