How long are your FBA universals Tangs after you grinded them to fit your super lite berg axles.

I'm at 6mm on ea FBA tang and don't want to remove to much thanks for any info.

Area with red line is where my 6mm is at.

Have a look at these pictures, notice how far out the C's ID is on Delrin tube. This is with my Tangs @ 6mm,
Does everything look good enough to bolt down?

Seems to me I'd want to push C's on to the tubes more but I'm afraid to remove more meat from the FBA TANG.
Pics below.

Do universals look lined up correct?

Thanks, I was just rewatching Erik's instruction video. He says to remove/grind 2mm or .080" of of FBA universals.
I've removed 2mm so I'll call it good... trying not to F-up these axles. my best tools are a hacksaw and butter knife so you know sometimes mistakes happens .

That is gorgeous. Are they the same width as non-superlight bergs? Can you do a weight comparison when you're done building them?

Not sure super lite berg axles are narrower then Dlux berg replacement berg cases. The visual thing I noticed right away is the front of the case on super lite front axle is narrower.
Yes I'll post pics of weights of both sets of axles. My current axles and the super lite axles.

Yep, 2mm on the tangs.

Looks like the chubs should have pushed on a bit more. There is only about 1mm that the edge does not push on. It does not really matter though as long as the shafts get good engagement. It just sets the width of the axles a bit wider. Keep this in mind if you ever switch shafts because they might not be long enough. We figured this out on stubs car because he did the same thing.

Super lites are 1/4" narrower than stock Bergs or the replacement cases.

I had close to 2mm ea side from Delrin tube to outer edge of Axail C's, every thing feels good though.

Erik, in your video you make building the axles look so easy. We can tell it wasn't your 1st set of axles.
I'm not saying they are hard to build. For me it's just not wanting to make a rookie mistake.
I noticed you say don't over think it during certain parts of your build video (i.e. installing C'S). When a newbie (like myself) to Dlux super lite berg axles is building these axles it really hard not to over think simple stuff like installing C's.
With that said axles are going together as they should. BTW my FBA universals Tangs fit perfectly with out having to hammer fit them into missing link locker.

My 2cents watch instruction video and listen while building your axles all the information is there. Great video.

Yeah, with anything comes confidence. Youre not alone in wanting to not screw anything up.

Getting the front axle together, specifically the shafts and C's are the hardest part. Lots of things to look for and little things that can cause binding.

Going to mount up these Ytown P1 2.2 Wheels with Alum face. On my new axles I think they'll look great with the alum and black Delrin Dlux super lite berg axles.

A mock up picture. Looks like I need to turn upper links rodends 1 or 2 turns in to lower rear of trans case just a hair. How does the rear look?

If youre being particular, maybe a tweak here and there but it looks really close to me! Good enough to drive and tune from there for sure.
