A D-Lux comeback!

I have been dormant for a little while. The other day i was in the garage digging through my old rc stuff when my wife cought me. That night she asked me if i was thinking about running comps again. I told her i was starting to miss it and it had crossed my mind. The next day she asked me why i had not starting ordering parts yet! I was explaining that if i was to do it again i pretty well needed to build a new rig to be up to date. She says "start ordering that shiz".

Kids sorry your presents will be light this year. I have parts coming.:flipoff: I will break down parts as i get to them in the build. First up wheels tires.

I called my buddy Kevin "kl design" and he had a hook up on wheels and tires.

Kl design original wheel package. he even left his sanded rovers with foam. Thanks kev.
I was also able to talk him out of his beadlocks. He worked his magic on them with cf faces.

5.5 comp cut inners with soft outer for the front. 5.5 inners with med outers for rear.
Thank you Kevin, and Crawler Innovations.

Re: A D-Lux comeback!

A little info on the kl design glue on wheels. The center section was designed to come out while the tire was still installed. This in theory would allow me to have sets of tires glued to outside rings ready to bolt the centers to. The quality is second to none on the set i have and hopefully i can talk him into cutting me some outside rings in the future.

Chassis- Dlux ultra- This thing is nice. The bends it takes on as you build it are sexy. Fit and finish are great as have been the shocks and shock collars.

Looks great thus far mang!"thumbsup"

It brings a smile to my face to see somebody get back into the game and on top of that, to be so excited about it! We could use another 200 of you.

On the chassis, put those long shock balls at the uppers on the chassis and then use the tiny plastic spacers for your rear shocks. The way you have it now, your probably a bit too wide in the center and you dont need the 3" at the back since it should be 3" at the upper links.

Welcome back into the comp scene .. You made a great choice on an awesome chassis I've had mine for a month or longer and drove it through the house once then tore it apart to upgrade to the D_Lux CF axles . My debute of it will be our January comp ..

Thanks Erik, sorry to bug you so much earlier. Thanks for all the help. I need to see what options you have for the front of my rig. Need to be able to mount a few different wheels all with vp hubs, just different widths.

Re: A D-Lux comeback!

For front hubs, you can use an RC4wd hex and a VP hub or you could use my Delrin .225 hub. I dont know that you would want to go wider than those two but, if you do, I have delrin spacers that you could use or VP obviously sells wider hubs than a 225.

Yes i do love them so far. I did not take as many pics building them as i would have liked. The build of them took my whole pea brain's attention.

Dlux carbon fiber superlite axles, front bully knucks, axial chubs, dlux knuckle weights, dlux front axles, 300 small gears, and rcbro lightweight gears.
