Default Berg axle thickness

I have an extra set of V1 tubes, I was going to get them milled down to save weight. My question is, how much can you take off one so that the tubes aren't too thin.

The id is roughly 8mm.

I've taken them down to 11mm od without any issues, it may be a bit thin for fronts on a plus sized rig. 12mm for fronts is a good safe diameter.

For rears, I've taken plenty to 11mm with no issues and one set down to 10mm but that was for a sub 4lb truck.

I am right at the mid 4lb rtr weight. I thought I had a spare set laying around but couldn't find them. Would I be better off to try to mill these down or buy a set of delrin or aluminum tubes?

That can only be decided by you really.

Things to consider:
-Access to machinery
-Value of your time
-Do you like building/modding your own parts
-and so on

All the tubes offered by the other vendors here are nice products.

You can't really go wrong either way.
