Default ♣♣New♣♣ DLUX REPLACEMENT gear cases

Setup information:
Bearings on the motor plate:
All flanged
The 4th and 3rd gears have the flange on the outside of the case, obviously the flange will be in the inside on the aluminum puck holding the 2nd gear bearing.

Bearings on the non motor side:
All NON flanged

The locker bearings will kinda "float" and not be held in by anything. This is what I am assuming 95% of people are doing with success. Some ideas to hold the bearings in, if it bothers you or you have issues would be to super glue the bearings to the carbon (which actually works great), loc tite the bearings to the locker or you can build some shims to go between the bearings and the tube bearing relief.

Yes, plug is for a hole to access for easy gear mesh since all motors and pinions can put it in a different spot. The plug works great. Its a pretty big hole that the plug uses and I can actually reach behind my 2nd gear to get to my motor screws with a standard driver. The reason I dont like the tape is because of looks and I also dont carry tons of tape on the trails with me and its nice to replace the plug that easily. To each their own though.

The main intention of producing these was to produce a case where you could not only benefit from the design but, first and foremost was to really bring the cost down. I would really like to help keep the hobby going, possibly bring some new people in all while giving them a product that not only has a low entry price but at the same time give a quality part that can be the heart of their axles even through many upgrades. From darn near stock to extremely modified, these should be a great building block.

These will be a close copy of my super lite axles. The main difference is that these will not have the benefit of being narrower at the gear case and therefore they will also not be narrower from kingpin to kingpin like the super lites. The narrowness of the super lites is still a huge advantage so this new design is not intended to take over but rather to help fill a void in the lower cost category.

Since these axles will be similar in many ways to the super lites, they share a lot of the same advantages.
  • If it bolts to a stock Berg, it should bolt to these cases. No need for special tubes, upper link mounts or anything else. You could literally take stock tubes, shafts, knuckles and upper link mounts and bolt them to these. This makes a super easy and cheap first upgrade.
  • 2nd lightest axles on the market behind the super lites. These are not far behind though. The only difference in weight will be that the super lites have a narrower locker.
  • No more Delrin centers! I am moving to Nylon on both these and the super lites. Nylon has shown to slide MUCH better than Delrin and also has so far shown to be a better material for the application. *Working on 7075 center sections now. Hopefully the price will be good enough to go ahead with these.
  • I am willing to do colors on these. CF will be the standard but if you want G10 side plates along with a colored center section, no problem. (may cost a bit extra and there will be a wait time).
  • Rear motor is tucked up and back giving TONS more clearance
  • Front motor is moved back. No need to notch the tube for 86Jeep style steering and the servo can finally breathe giving the servo a much longer life.
  • Unlike the Berg, these cases are ready to go with out all the work. No need to shave the case, mill the motor mount down, move the motor mounting locations etc,. These setup fast and perfect.
  • With the servo moved back you can now achieve perfect steering angles and also place the entire tie rod behind the tubes for a perfect approach angle.
  • Battery mount is built right into the CF case
  • Did I mention the price I think most will be pretty happy. I will get pricing on my site ASAP and post in this thread when I have it ready to go.

Centers now have the added logo so there is no question who's cases you bought.

Width is in check!

All stock except centers....

RCbros setup looks great on these! (I am now stocking these tubes FYI)

Dlux tubes and upper mount obviously work too.

Not to worry. I'm sure it's got the trademark Dlux stamp on it.

And if you see the crown, you know they're down.

There are going to be a lot of possibilities. I am trying to get the final details on this and I will let you know. At this point, the design is in its final stages and is out being tested. I should know more and be selling these very, very soon.

Yeah, I can do that. Cost is going to be a bit more than the "standard" materials. Looks like about $15,000 for 18k gold. Of course you could always MAN up and get the platinum versions. They will run $30,000.

If anybody thinks I am joking about doing the above.... try me.

Sounds like the perfect addition to my diamond encrusted toilet and TP roll of Ben Franklins

A diamond encrusted toilet is worthless without its bidet compliment. I wish I were rich enough for a bidet.

I just hope titanium will be an option, and not $20K!

Ok, so I was really slow on getting the info and pictures up. I will not be slow on getting product out though. I expect these to start shipping in just a week or two.

TI probably wont be an option unless you want to spend some coin. I just checked and raw material would be close to $125. All I would have to do then is find somebody that wants to machine it!

Updated with info and pics. Let me know if you guys have questions. Only thing I really cant answer in here is cost and I will have that ASAP. They will be the cheapest Berg option on the market and they will probably make the Bully guys feel like they spent a lot. Ok, ok, sorry for the jab Bully guys.
