| Crawllifes CCC axled Silas build
As I've i stated in my pro and sporty thread, I have a new team in 2015. I'm excited not only to share this build but a new chassis from CCC. The Silas will also be sold as " the Pointer" while many of the parts of last years top notch build will be reused, I'm amped to be able to share the chassis with you tonight. This chassis is like nothing that has come from CCC to date. First off was the decision to use the double sheer side plates . This will have advantages such as rigidity and also protect the rod ends at the chassis from getting hung up. The chassis also comes in 8 grams lighter then anything CCC has created in the past. There is no need to for me to explain the benefits to lower weight up high. There is not one hole or line that hasn't been completely rethought and reengineered. My team model has the optional aluminum braces. When it reaches market, the basic version will come with delrin braces. The aluminum will be an upgrade. The first step was to freshen up the axles that were basically brand new from last year. I love the RCBros gears. With these gears and these boxes, they are the quietest axles I've owned. I'm running creeper Bobs rears out back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Lastly for tonight, I'm sticking with my RCBros shocks. These have the 1/16 Traxxas parts in them. Along with EY Designs Ti shafts, RCBros springs and jeepndoug cups. I believe hulksta has some of his new 3D printed spring retainers in the mail so I'll make that update as the parts become available to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Did Ccc change any of his link geometry for this chassis?

Rethought and changed are different things all together.... hehehe. Its a cool looking chassis for sure. When its just the chassis sitting on a table. Its hard to see any outright changes until its attached to links and axles. Good luck with this build! |

I'm just playing around bud. Thanks for the well wishes. I really have a lot of hope for this chassis. I'm hoping to get my shock rebuild done today so I can show the stance as a slider. Then you can tell me what you think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I get confused by your post. Are you challenging the redesign? If so, I'll have Barry send me the other chassis so the difference is more clear. The creeper box axles are great and gear boxes are better than ok. I didn't even have to open them. It was just preventative maintenance for the gears. I assure you, if you compare the look, math and construction, this chassis is very different from what he's done previously. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No I am not challenging the redesign,, just got my pitbull down from the shelf and compared it to the new one... And the look pretty alike to me,, exept from the more oval top on the new chassis.. Dont get me wrong,, I totaly like the new chassis aswell.. I love that there is coming more chassis on the market these days.. It was the one thing in the 2.2pro world that I felt we had to little off... but now it is looking good since more and more vendors are making new and improved chassis all the time |

FLOKI-81, if you have tech based darts to through at the products I'm using, back them up with solid tech of your own. I can promise you that Dlux doesn't need a new guy bashing my stuff for him. I've seen you in every thread across these boards trying to figure out which end is up. Please don't come here to be negative. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So, back to tech that may actually help a new comer. I touched on the rear axle but on to the front. These axles take wraith unis that are modded to fit berg axles. This is something CCC handles in house so there is no need to panic over where your axles will come from. The steering arms are carbon from CCC and I'm running a 7950. Thanks to Creation Fab, I run 2 mini mambas and a castle bec. I know it seems to be the " in thing" to run holmes mini's but I've had nothing but great luck with the castle stuff and don't see a change any time soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks Purp!! It's coming along nicely. Once I kick the programmer out, I'll get to shock rebuilding and maybe get a slider pick up. Look forward to seeing you soon! We will sing songs and play naked jenga till dawn!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: Crawllifes CCC axled Silas build Yes Purp...... I think he had a touch of pneumonia last week and thought he was going to die! I can relate to that. I was sick in bed for a full week with the flu 5 weeks ago. This chassis was drawn after laying in bed for days and days with little to occupy my mind. I was dabbling on the laptop trying to stay sane and I had a wave of ideas start flowing. I hated the week in bed but I think something great arose from the ashes.
