| Who's Going to be the First to Make Gears
We need gears. Who is going to be the first one of you Fab guys to make us Berg guys gears? It sucks that there is probably a warehouse in Japan somewhere that has skids of cases of gears piled away somewhere that someone forgot about. So how about it? |

It's just pricy buying the big gears from Will and the full set from rc4wd ( CCC ) to make a set. I agree, I run Will's gears to. If they ever wear out, ( don't see that happening) I'll just use the rc4wd gears. They've never broken. Just a bit heavy. Not a problem for Beerman or Barry, they can lighten em up good;)

To be fair, no one really bought our gears when the 300's 2nd and 3rds were available either. I do know the 300's sold 10 times as much as my gear sets. Our gear seats for sale are still from batch #1. I was crossing my fingers to make some money back on the first batch and profit the second batch.. That was unfortunately not the case. I would love to find a cheaper resource, but I won't sell a lesser quality.. 4340 machined, then rolled, then separated, then lightened, then heat treated, then electro-polished. It's a lot of steps, all which unfortunately cost. We have learned alot making them and it has been educationally fun. Lamburgini vs hyundai... There are a lot more Hyundai's on the road, but I refuse to drive one. It's has always amazed me how much we will pay for other items on our crawler versus other items. Our rigs are lightweight now and the typical stresses of our old 8 lb cars are not there, but I love peace of mind. Last edited by RcBro; 04-23-2015 at 10:53 PM. |

You have a gear supporter in me Will. My only point was the difficulty in spending on 2 sets to make one good one. In no way shape or form was my comment a cut. You know how I feel about your stuff. I don't want anyone thinking otherwise

| Re: Who's Going to be the First to Make Gears No, it's cool. I just feel like tension is running high on here for some reason. Maybe it's just me but it feels like the forum is different than it once was. You didn't come off any way. I just wanted to be clear. There is a gear thread in general crawler section as well. I answered to the new commer that rc4wd was the only complete set and where he could get them. I'm sorry the smalls didn't go the way you wanted dude. I'll gladly keep running your large gears. They've served me well and I'm surprised you have stock.

| Re: Who's Going to be the First to Make Gears i never knew how much went into the rcbros gears, i always liked the design better because it looks lighter than the rc4wd gears but i could never see the point in spending the extra cheddar for 2 sets just to shave a few more grams. but now that i know the machining process, count me in for 2 sets. its well worth the extra cheese.

Will's gears are well worth the money. They are so smooth. There like buttery goodness. I liked them so much I got extra set's. Keep it up Will. |
